The worst car

I did not fully tried every cars in the game but...

The Toyota Supra really sucks.

While handling is as horrible as most rear wheel drive cars, the engine blows on long drags.

LOL! Are you kidding me? The supra doesn't suck under the controls of a good driver. Work on your skills.

And you don't even want to get me started on the FWD vs. RWD thing. Rear Wheel Drive is so much better than front! Have you ever driven a car in real life? If you have then you should know. Why are dragsters RWD? Cuz FWD is better? Duh....

And if you want to talk about bad then just look at the H2, Navigator, and Escalade. I beat the game using a Supra and it wasn't that hard.

SUV's was not in my mind 'cause they are completely off topic about street racing and are only there to show off.

of course RWD are more powerful than FWD, which made them a better choice for drags, since you drive on a straight line, but handling suffer.

For any race other than drags I will never use RWD cars.

LOL ... Yeah, RWD cars handle like shiznit ... That's why every major sports car uses RWD (or AWD) ... Obviously they handle like shiznit in comparison to an Integra because they're RWD ... Who would want a POS F1, Elise, Ferrari, Carrera GT, M3, SL600, S2000, Corvette, Viper, Nissan Z, Nissan Silvia, NSX, RX-8, RX-7, Miata, Esprit, XKR, etc. ? All of which get OWNED by the Integra in terms of handling  Integra = best handling car in the world

Worst car in the game is the 3000GT in my testing ...

this is the first time in my life that someone actually says that RWD suffers in handling, in the game i doubt the physic engines does make mistake. but in real life, FWD suffers alot disadvantages compare to RWD and 4WD/AWD.
why ? let it be simple, FWD having the powerplant/engine place before the front wheel line (front front bumper) where the ideal weight distribution 50:50 has been disturbed (50:50 here means the weight from front end to middle is equal to the other half end).
second is about the driving wheels in front having too much burden, the front wheel have alot of work to do, it runs the car, turning, most of all the FWD weight is having most weight to the front. tires well get higher pressure after some time you start running, same goes to the temperature. tires will lose grip, handling decrease ~~
thats why top end model sports car will have RWD and 4WD/AWD. examples: BMW (almost all BMW are RWD), Ferraries and supercars, skyline R34 GTR is a hybrid (starts off with RWD and when in mid rpm they are in 4WD), and i never heard musle running FWD, JGTC japan GT all running RWD or 4WD
sorry i got a bad grammar : P

Please don't call those wonderful mechines pos. Just because you can't drive them dosen't mean they are shiznit.

If your having trouble with rear wheel drive cars. You should brake befor the corner and drive through. Other wise you will end up in a slide.

This game should have a divers tests for newbies like Gran Turismo.

RWD handles badly? Hmmm I wonder why my RX-7 in the game oversteers?
Well FF got advantage in the rain with more grip but other than that it will lose.
There is also another reason FF is never really high powered.
With a lot of power comes torque steering.
Wheelspin at front tires which leads to understeering.

FR don't get that, they get a power over which can be fatal for the unexperienced driver, because the rear comes swinging out.
I find the Supra a good car that can make a stand against those higher up, maybe because I suck at FF driving and handle AWD, 4WD and RWD at their full potential.
I love sliding through corners, though I do control the slide and use to raise my entry and exit speed.
The Advantage with AWD and RWD is that you can get the car sideways when you need it to.

I'm recently driving a Supra and I really loooooove the car 8) . Never heard the enginesound of the Supra b/4 but it kicks some serious ass! Revs just throw me out of my seat, have to really work to keep up w/ shifting gears ;)

Care to share ur tuning settings w/ me?

If it ain't FWd or RWD, than it's got to be 4WD.

The Skyline, Impreza, Evo7, A3 and the TT.

My choice is the Skyline and TT :)

It is pretty basic, you will probably laugh when you see it.
Just remember this is a stock looking Supra I am driving so no aerodynamics.

Where? I think I'm mostly on level 2 performance parts and mine is set w/ the default configuration. Wouldn't know where too start tuning, prolly little more downforce in the front to get some understeering away, but I really have to spend lots of hours to figure the tuning-thing out. I'm getting the hang of cutting through corners ;) I've done some practicing on the 1st circuit what's-it-called w/ the 4 x left corners and fastest is 30.03 (no nitro). So best time is prolly around 26 sometin

I'll post it tomorrow when I get home on my own comp so I can get the numbers.
It is designed to use the braking drift anyways.

Anothe thing about FWD and RWD:

The only time FWD might have an advantage over RWD is if you start to lose it in a turn, depending on how your losing it anyways. With FWD you can just give it more gas and pull yourself through the turn. With RWD if you give it too much gas your back end is going to the freaking wall...

Other than that, and having driven several FWD and RWD cars in real life, RWD is teh win (i've yet to drive AWD but I'm sure it's quite handy).

well, RWD, FWD, AWD....the only thing I want is a street freak to make other s***ting cars eating my dust 8) :D

btw, I hate SUVs (just to tell it :D )

Having owned both RWD and FWD cars in real life, I have to say that I preferred RWD (or Right Wheel Drive as motor racers call it). Bearing in mind my Opel Manta was only 90BHP, it would leave FWD Peugeot 205 1.9 GTi's in its dust (and YES, they were trying to win the traffic light Grand Prix!). Absolutely fantastic acceleration and the best handling as the driving wheels and steering wheels are seperate. Only problem was it was fatal in icy conditions (the only car I ever spun through a complete, accidental, 360 - luckily I didn't hit anything!) I could also just about get that car to lift its front wheels off the road (not by much, a couple of MM and only for a split second, admittedly). If I could have any car I owned back, it would be that one!

The main problem with FWD (or Wrong Wheel Drive as racers call it) cars is Torque Steer. My current car is a beast from that point of view - 170BHP (which won't sound a lot to the Americans, I know, but European cars tend to be much quicker for the BHP due to their lightness - it's enough for 0-62MPH in 7 seconds and a top speed of 150MPH) through the front wheels - you have to be awake when you take off under full acceleration from a standing start, I can tell you!

you couldn't be MORE wrong! if you increase the power in a turn with a FWD car when you are udnersteering (cause that is what a NORMAL FWD car does) you will only INCREASE your understeer and slide headfirst out of the corner.
to get back on track you have to LET GO of the GAS and keep steering and the car will get back on track!

now back to the steering of the RWD cars in the game (and in real life also)

the problem you where having (most likely!) is OVERSTEER, wich means the nose of your car is facing the inside of the corner --> the rear is going to overtake you!

now what to do... when that happens (powerslide :D:D) you need to steer the oposite way! so when the corner is going to the left steer to the right (only when you are already Sliding ofcourse  ) and you will see you will NOT spin out of control and as a BONUS you get a nice powerslide!
try it and you will see... (it will probably go wrong a couple of times... when you just gone over the edge and the steering to the oposite side doesn't work any more... but when practicing you will find the EDGE!

GOOD luck

Man, I'm at work so I can't try it right now, but I can't wait to try it 2nite 8) !! Do I give some gas when steering the opposite way or just steer?

it differs on your aproach speed. just try it... and you will find out... it is more a feeling...

Stig knows everything so you'd better listen.

In the end it is just a game and we will (at least for a while) be far away from reality with it. I guess we need GreZ to poke his grimey head in and put in his $0.02 on Supra's, or Mike. I've never driven one in real life so I'm no one to critisize how it's been done in the game. To me it's not that bad of a car for any of the modes, but there are better cars for say, Circuit and StreetX. Anyways, maybe someone with knowledge will shed light on that side of the post.

I'd say the 350z is worse than the Supra though if were going to pick on cars.
