My personal recommendation would be the ATI RADEON 9600 or if you've got a little extra to spend than go for the 9600XT. Avoid buying graphics card with SE or Special Edition, they are usually a stripped down version of the original.

An ATI 9600XT 256MB will set you back about £100 british pounds. A 9600 256 are usually about £30 cheaper.

Don't pay attention to the brand name, they're all the same. Hope that helps.

There is a big difference between a 256MB card and a 128MB graphics card I can tell you that from experience. I first had an ATI RADEON 9600 128MB which i bought for about £30 (and sold for £45 on ebay). I then upgraded to a 9600XT 256 which was a vast improvement. If you've got the money then go for a 256mb card.

a 9600xt is a far better version of the 9600, 9600xt is overclock from the pro version, so thats double clocked, plus extra ram, you cant compare 2 different cards...

They're the same card. The speed difference comes from a higher-bit memory interface, nothing else. Size doesn't make a difference 9 cases out of 10.
