Nope... The music file format in NFSU is .ast. And all songs are in one file. And decoders are as far as I know not available. yet.

Any updates as far as decoders for the audio format being discovered yet? There's a few of the NFSU songs I'd love to be able to listen to while in the car.

I'm also hoping someone will go a step further and figure out a way to add our own tracks to the game. ;>

Peace out...

well, one thing I´d really like to know is: whats the soundtrack that plays during the intro (when you see the car getting assembled/race running?)
I´d sure like to know that track :)

well, looks like we'll have to rely on GT4 to have voice chat, downloadable songs, and downloadable cars

If it's the song I'm thinking about it's the one by Crystal Method.

Just check them out inthe EA Trax part. Shouldn't bee too difficult to figure out which one it is.

Peace out...

Nope, can't say that I do. I am familiar with extracting the audio files from ASF files, but NFSU is using these AST files. And so far I haven't seen any converters/extractors for them.

If your friend can indeed do this, we'd all love for him to share with us how.

Thanks and Peace out...

For everyone interested in the soundtrack, I stumbled across it last night in alt.binaries.nl. Someone out there extracted the music (all 26 tracks) from the game and posted it to the above newsgroup.

Just a FYI.

Peace out...

Heyas Phil_Boy..

The song in the original trailer for the game was "Holla Back" by Fabulous. Since then I've seen the same trailer with different music, "Born to Run" by Crystal Method.

I can't check which one is in the link you sent, the firewall at work squashes any type of streaming media. I'm going to assume it's the Crystal Method song, but I can verify this later on when I get home.

Peace out...
