NFSUnlimited.net

I have noticed that there are some people who are downloading images of our cars onto their computers and re-uploading them on another NFS-planet.de! I have seen my own caddy there, and enzo.ph has noticed some of his work there too. I dunno what can be done about it apart from contacting the admin there though.

I just wanted everyone to be aware of this. Probably best to make sure your name is on your cars at least. Not like mine........

I suggest that individual car owners contact these sites directly if you find any instances of theft. They're your cars after all..

put links to original cars and stolen ones here and I'll contact nfsplanet admin.

ah yes, but someone might easily crop the picture or overwrite with black

a more secure system is a watermark-type of nfsunlimited.net banner, like the "specimen" thing they do on printed money...

but then again, the pic becomes crabby and details are lost

Or post the "copyright" text on top of backgrounds (or whatever) to make them harder to crop out. Usually the "thieves" are not skilled enough, or have enough patience to start messing about with images if even a little bit "work" is required.

Having a NFSUnlimited.net watermark put on every uploaded image is possible, but I doubt the majority would like that.

Ugh....not THAT big watermark. I think this should be left for the users. If they wan't to tag their images as nfsunlimited.net, they can do it themselves. I don't think it should be automatically placed on every image.

That are all I saw, but this guy has 4 pages of cars, so he probably stole more cars that I didn't recognise
