OK I have the NFSU Demo and it is asking for DX9. Will DX9 affect or make my other games non-functional??? I heard a lot of poop about it in that manner...

Well in my case installing DX9 only made games run better.
And every DX release is compatible with previous releases, so it shouldn't screw up you pc...

I already got it and I must say that it looks very good. The sense of speed rocks! Too bad the driving is arcade...

I got 20min left to upload it to edgefiles - a working version!

Simulation is NFS Porsche type of driving, Arcade is NFSHP2 type. With arcade you basically don't need the brakes...

I know... 1 hour after I put the file online, the edgefiles servers are almost full, the demo was downloaded over 100times - 22GB+
Seems like every server that's mirroring this gets clogged sooner or later.
Try the NFSCars one now. Currently it's still fast.

T-Shine I got it off of NFSCARS because everything else was loked up tight. Just scroll down to the news and click on AUSGAMERS mirror, that's where I got it. Only took like 15 min. to bring down.

If anyone has an Audigy sound card with 4 or more speakers this is awesome in EAX mode. If you don't have an Audigy I EXTREMELY suggest getting one.

Is there going to be damage in the full release? I really haven't been paying attention to the updates at all.

There won't be damages.. the brands simply won't allow their cars to be damaged.

Anyways, got another mirror: http://www.dailyrush.dk/files/demos/503/

Nope, no damage I think... It's the thing with licensed cars that their makers don't want to see damaged :)

If you need a fast download for the NFSU Demo, then follow this link from Gamer's Hell http://www.gamershell.com/download_4024.shtml , it will show you different servers to choose from, and it'll indicate how full they are, I had a steady download of 100 KB/S, so try that link if you don't have any luck from edge network....
