How to extract the songs from the game... (NFSU2) !!!

Post by ed3m1r »

I have discovered a way in wich you can extract all the songs from NFSU2, and I thought it would be nice to share this information with you guys ;)

At first You will have to download these programs...

1 - http://www.volny.cz/nova-software/files/extr24.zip - (you will use it to extract the .mus files contained in the sdat.viv...)
2 - http://downloads.soccergaming.com/d...php?id=00009666 - (FIFA 2005 Creation centre, you will just need an aplication contained on it...)

Now that you have already installed these programs go to the folder where you installed Creation centre and copy the file "sx.exe" to a Temp folder ex: C:\New folder
Use the first utility you have downloaded to exctract all those .mus files from "SDAT.VIV"
after extract you will notice many .mus files...
:P:P
Sorting the files by size ...
these are the .mus you will need

sdat 01110.mus
sdat 01086.mus
sdat 01107.mus
sdat 01079.mus
sdat 01100.mus
sdat 01096.mus
sdat 01111.mus
sdat 01114.mus
sdat 01112.mus
sdat 01109.mus
sdat 01115.mus
sdat 01088.mus
sdat 01085.mus
sdat 01081.mus
sdat 01095.mus
sdat 01117.mus
sdat 01099.mus
sdat 01358.mus
sdat 01097.mus
sdat 01108.mus
sdat 01082.mus
sdat 01113.mus
sdat 01083.mus
sdat 01087.mus
sdat 01078.mus
sdat 01084.mus
sdat 01098.mus
sdat 01080.mus
sdat 01091.mus

* I am not sure if they are all 29 songs, one good reason is the 26 songs available in game... so you will have to hear em after decoding...

* Now press windows key + r, write "cmd.exe" (xp/2k) or "command.com" (9x) and hit "ok"

* Use "cd c:\new folder name" to go to the folder where is located the "sx.exe" and the ".mus" files

* Use this Command to make the good job -> sx -wave -remixstereo -rs48000 -.wav filename.mus <- this will convert the .mus file into a .wav :D

* As we know Wav Uses a big space of disk, so you´d better use an aplication that turns "WAV" into "MP3"

I dunno if it´s illegal doing this things and taking the songs from game, but if you bought the game like I did, you should say WHATEVER....

Finishing I would like to thank ARUSHAN from NFSCars for some steps,
Dave Mercier - EA Canada for the great sx.exe ;D
and my brother who´s pissing me off in this right moment ...

Very nice. Fairly close to a Music Importer then?

Post by Revin »

Excellent.

If the music can be extracted and converted with these utilities, and that sx.exe can be used to convert .wav back into the proper file format, the last step would be to figure out how to re-embed those files back into the sdat.viv and, in theory, that should be all you need to import your own tunes into the game. 8)

(Hehe, I'm sure a lot of people are still eagerly awaiting that mythical NFSU:2 Music Importer...)

Yes, this will be the last step until we can add our own mp3 to the game...
Hope someone can make an utility soon...
