What's the deal with editing screenshots for the showroom?

I was wondering about how much editing I can do on my screenshots for the showroom. I read the rules but I don't know from that if I can do like some of the other people have with their cars by putting more than one picture of the car and by cuting out oly the car and putting it on another background. I just thoguht I'd ask just to be sure I don't waste time making a nice picture and not be able to have it posted. Thanks.

NFSUnlimited.net NFSU2 Showroom Rules
By pressing the submit button below you agree to the following rules:

Image rules
The image you submit must be a JPG compressed image with size of everything between 800x600 and 1280x960 as long as the width and height are in 4:3 ratio. Most used image sizes that will be accepted are 800x600, 1024x768 and 1280x960.
Image *must* be taken in the game Need for Speed Underground 2. It must show the car you are submitting.

The car you are submitting must take at least 50% of the width of the image. This means that images where car is too small will not be accepted.

Light image editing is allowed (brightness and contrast improveement) as long as it doesn't change the overall appearance of the car.

Voting rules
Rating own cars is not permitted.
Downvoting* and upvoting** is not allowed and being caught will result in banning the termination of user's account and possibly banning the user from reregistering.

* downvoting is voting low on other cars in order to improve own rating.
** upvoting is voting high on own cars with multiple user accounts.

Ya, I read this. Thanks for posting it again. I'm just stumped at the part where it says: "Light image editing is allowed (brightness and contrast improveement) as long as it doesn't change the overall appearance of the car." Can you mess with everything and add anything as long as you don't mess with the car? Thanks for helping me.

do anything you want, as long as you don't change the image of the car itself, that should be ok i think. Cut 'em out but nice backgrounds, do whatever you wanna do.

You could check out some of the cars in the showroom, most of the cars follow the rules. The others slipped thru...

You can't edit the car, only make it brighter (dark cars tend to disappear). And it must be big enough to be seen. When it comes to backgrounds, you're free to do what you want, as long as it doesn't look offensive to anyone...

Did this help?

EDIT: Seems like Sir Ibi beat me to it... :P

You can't edit anything on the car.

since it doesnt change the overall look of the car which is not this case imo.

It does, it looks better, and it shouldn't look better

but thats the point of each edit, so if you dont want the car looks better than only original screenshot without even opening it in photoshop should be allowed ;)

Look at it this way.
Capture the picture of the car, and LEAVE IT AS IT IS[including rims]
Modify the background...
You have to understand that some users can barely use MS Paint...

Showroom 2 must have the same as showroom 1 take simple screen from garage totaal view of the car plus to small views of the front and back if you want and no fancy stuff. Check my garage in showroom 1 to see what i mean

someone can use PS, others cant. someone got good PC for effects, others dont. someone got talent to make nice cars, others dont have it. you cant try to find equality here :P and if u will try to make a rules which make all users as most equal as possible, it would ruin whole showroom imo ;)

You just don't edit your cars and everything will be OK

P.S. About the DTM TT, I blurred the background with it so I edited the background with an actual car, but I have other pics of the same car, non edited

i got another pics of same car too :) you see ? its just stupid detail ;) i see its pointless to talk about this coz theres only 1 solution, to delete whole showroom and accept only non edited screenshots ;)

yeah but in the end its all about the cars
i mean sure, if you have a nice background its more appealing to the eye but if you go to the trouble of making a good background and your car is a heap of crap theres no poin of even doing it

Not sure why mine's being rejected. my car is roughly 50% of the width of the whole image, it is a Jpg, it is 800 x 600, havn;t touched the car its self, and its on a background that has had yonks spent on it. The only way i could think of for why it was being rejected was that if whoever was looking at it got a ruler, measured the image and measured the car and found that it must JUST fall under 50%. Anyone care to help here?

they won't allow it because they could get higher votes than regular cars
