Haven't ever played before. One time I went over my cousins house for the day and I played it a while. The best I can do is slow strumming of the strings.macdaddy wrote:Jopuma, how long you play for?
What about a GMP guitar? Those may be expensive, but they are the most famous. Excellent sound and really cool customization. Check it.korge wrote:Pauls IMO are just hype. I only like their pickup sound. Other than that, they are just expensive.
See what I mean ^^.

FINALLY I have an update for ya's.
Not a lot has happened since last time, but there is enough to write about
- First of all, my neck is just about ready for paint, as I have finished shaping it.
- On the body I have routed a 45-degree edge on most corners.
- On the back I have routed cavities for the electronics.
- I carved out the part of the body near the base of the neck.
- The guitar is also thinner since the last pics I took.
Here it is so far:
As I said before, one of my mates is making an LP replica with a contoured top. Here is the work in progress:
And here is another mates SG replica:
These guitars belong to other poeple in the class:
And a couple more pics of the work area:

very nice stuff Bogan, i spent two years learning to build guitars but had to find a new direction because there isn't much chance of getting a good job in the UK. It can become a bit stressful when it comes to spraying, making sure you've got the dents out, then after spraying there's a lot of careful sanding to do to get the neck and hardware to fit back in the slots. I've got a few chips on my guitar but luckily they're under the bridge, pots and input socket. It takes a while to polish and buff but it's well worth it, your's looks well cool, a proper trashing axe

Another UPDATE:
- we have finally got some paint and at the moment the guitar has clear paint over it.
- the neck has been stained black. I used stain instead of paint because then I can still see the woodgrain.
- I have used wet & dry sandpaper on the clear paint to make it smooth and prepare it for the next layer of paint, which will be yellow.
- it also appears that the guitar shop who is supplying our electronics is screwing us over and we still haven't got them yet.

Ahhh . . . ahahaaaa . . . no
Since school finished I haven't done any work on it. The guitar shop gave us the wrong electronics and we're having a hard time trying to get the right parts. When school starts again this year, I'll be able to go and see the teacher so we can try and work something out.
It's pretty annoying

Re: Guitar Discussion
Nah, I never finished that guitar. I would, but I have no idea where it is now.
