NFS UG2 6800GT users need your help, NFS UG2 crashes 4 me

I have a 6800GT and when I updated to v1.2 of the game, whenever I turn on overbrights/tinting on and road reflections higher then the first setting the game will freeze and crap out. If I restart in safemode I can run the game ok, I can turn all the options on except I cannot turn on road reflections beyond the first notch without the game crapping right the hell out. I never had these problems in v1.0 or v1.1 of the patch, but as soon as I applied 1.2 all hell broke loose and I'm using the latest drivers.

The other problem also the game in general when playing for only like 20 minutes on the 1.2 patch when I turn off road reflections down to setting 1 after so many minutes will freeze and I end up having to reboot, when I go revert to 1.1 I can play for hours straight with no problems.
