Drag Problems

I can't finish drag races anymore. My cars engine blows at around 19.9 seconds into the race. First i thought it was my car Miata. I switched to Mustang GT. Still i keep getting engine blows. I switched my car again to audi TT. Bam engine blow. Then i thought it was because of using NOS ,so i stoped using it. Nope it still keeps blowing. My car reaches it's max speed at that time and doesn't finish the race. I'm not sure what to do.

Don't push the gas button all the time

you can do one of these options:
1 - use another which has a higher topspeed
2 - tune your current car and put the gearing for high-speed instead of accaleration

That's right. And also tune the ECU and turbo to deliver maximum power at high revs.

you can also change the gear ratio to favor top speed

Mna you have the meter right wen it gets at the red light stop pushing the gas or change gears this never hapend to me ya i've blow the engine sometimes but not all the time maybe wen i used nos and i was in the last gear and didn't changet the gear .

yeah... are you sure you were in the top gear and not in 5th... because ive done that a couple of times... other than that i can only suggest what i did before and what boganbusman said.

The tuning and test track can be useful tools - use them and you should finsh drag races with no problems at all.

Or just don't draft people it helps alot

Or, instead of jamming the gas all the time, get behind the leader early, and feather the gas as you draft him, then, at the last possible moment, swing out of his slipstream, hit the gas and / or nitrous oxide, and take the race.

I used to have this problem when I first played the game. It occurs when you tune your drivetrain in drag mode too much to the acceleration. I have mine about 75% of the way towards top speed which gives me enough acceleration to bust out of the pack and then enough top end to keep going through the gears without getting to my rev limit.

This can be different for every car and level of tuning however. I use this for my level 3 tuned Supra. I'd start at half way and go from there.
