I also use fraps to capture videos. I posted a few in the UMP section.

fraps obviously hogs your system so will slow down the game unless u have a monster of a pc.right?
and how does it know when to start and stop recording

Yes, it uses a bunch of resources. There are mappable shortcut keys to stop/start recording.

When you take a fraps clip, usually you arnt ending up with the same resolution as the game, so you can use a much lower reso for taking the clips for more fps without really getting any clip difference.

u can just change the res once u encode the video. remember that fraps records uncompressed frames. so make sure u use something to compress it later. EG. windows movie maker, Imtoo video encoder, ETC.

Thats not what I meant, I meant the people with average graphics cards can record the movie fine without all the hickups.

yeah i kno i was just pointing out that u needed to encode it to shrink the size down.

I was recording side 3 and the needle skated audibly over the start of the song
I panicked and hit the stop button, oops...

It is possible to start recording again? Continue? Sorry for the noob question. Thanks
