I use fraps (
http://www.fraps.com) to capture the video and sound, then convert the very large avi file to a reasonably sized wmv file.

On windows xp, you can use Windows Movie Maker (it's included for free). You can aslo buy programs like Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 (expensive).
