Q&A With Scott Nielsen

Post by Skyline_man »

Shacknews posted some Q&A with producer Scott Nielsen, the interview doesnt have any new information, but you will find it a little bit detailed than the previous ones.
Shack: Tell us about the 3 car class types: Exotics; Muscle; and Tuners. What makes each unique; what are pros and cons; etc.

Scott Nielsen: We’ve really spent a lot of time this year differentiating the three car classes. So much so that we’ve based part of the game around this fact and allow the player to choose their allegiance right at the start and play through the career in one of three different flows according to which class they’ve picked. Each class will have certain strengths and weaknesses that the player must balance against their driving style or car preference. There is no single class that will be consistently at the top. Given the right driver, any of the 3 classes can be equally competitive.

oh boy, same old interviews ... at least they camed up to this:
Apart from Autosculpt, players will find many of the same options available in previous games but improved in countless ways. I think fans will be very excited when they see what’s available.

AWESOME! so, there`s not only 1 body kit .. \:D/ \:D/ \:D/

can't say for sure what he means when he says "some of the same options available in previous games". it could be free-roaming world, it could be changeable lights, it could be roofscoops, it could be spoilers, anything. i dont think we can be sure until we get our hands on the demo.

I think EA is getting abit TOO experimental...all i want is NFS:High Stakes, with new graphics, more cars and customization (HS had cops too :))

This game seems to lack unity from what I can gather right now. It seems like a random mish-mash of U2, and some new race modes. I don't feel a sense of one unified game ... yet.

I dont think they want to give ALL their ideas and secrets probabliy because they plan to keep something for later. For example inthe interview rhe guy said they removed drag racing so that they cud tweak it a'little for the next game in series......looks like they arent getting enough time or something!!

imo i think this is what MW was previously the release of it. Remember that there are a lot of things that were supposed to be in MW (like graphics), and they weren't at the final version. I think that MW was/is a "test" of the Carbon's Engine, so that's can explain why MW was buggy. Maybe Carbon is going to have less bugs than MW, maybe....

About the demo, yeah, I agree with skylineman, imo the demo will be released in october, but not in september. I hope they test a lot this game in "medium" or "low" pc's to check more incompatibilities, like "some" ATI's and nVIDIA's cards with the Shadow detail from MW.
