Let's try to convince EA to release NFS sources!
Since I am an old school player, I love old games. I still play High Stakes, Hot Pursuit and even NFSIISE. They are great. I also love very much Hot Pursuit 2, because this is the last NFS to have gorgeous views and interesting tracks along with beautiful cars.
I wonder, why EA makes this series so hard to create mods for? Why doesn't release the sources for older series?
It isn't a news that this helps to revive interest for those games within their fans, and modding community is a great supporting force.
Look at Doom. After id released the source, so many ports were created, people still play this great game, and the most advanced ports make it look almost like modern shooters, still having this special Doom feeling and atmosphere.
I wish EA someday would realise that and release the sources. I want to play my old beloved NFSs on my modern PC and OS without any magic passes and tons of patches.
I understand that EA is aiming at casual players, who don't know that MW is ninth of NFS...
Maybe, at least, they release some special "NFS More-Than-Decade" pack, similar to what was made to "Command & Conquer" series...
What do you guys think?
I have posted this topic on, I guess, every NFS-related forum I found. So, please, don't take me as flooder. I try to draw attention of the community to this question.
If you think my idea is hopeless or somewhy stupid, please, explain, why you think so. I really believe, that we CAN change the situation if we DO something TOGETHER.
Thanks for your patience.

Brilliant idea, -= Mancubus =-. You have my complete support.
NFS is a glorious game. I am sure that releasing the sources would allow NFS, especially the older ones to live on forever, even if the series gets discontinued. Not that I would want it to be discontinued, lol.
