The signups for closed beta of Need for Speed World, the upcoming racing MMO are now open! Head on to this page and apply!

Along with the signups for the beta, EA also launched the official World Online website with new developer interviews. Exceptionally cool is the part 3 of All the world's a stage by World's art director Eduardo Agostini. There's also a new video interview featuring Dave Elton, a senior designer on Need for Speed World.

Another thing that happened is the name change: NFS World Online is no more, the official title is now Need for Speed World.

in the video I noticed the desktop on his computer, what track is that in shift. i dont recognize it

Good question... I've never seen that track in SHIFT. There are some ovals, but none has such a long straight. And all other tracks don't have corners like those. Maybe it's going to appear in the next DCL?

Uuuuuhh, what makes you think that's an in-game picture? Looks to me like a Porsche press shot for one of their models (though I don't know which 911 997 model it is).

Not really. For a second I didn't think that would be a in-game screenshot. Shift doesn't look THAT great. If it were GT.. yeah, I'd understand.
