Re: Videocards.. which to buy and whatnot.. simply videocards!
Dude...the 8600GT does a awesome job at gaming. Not with 1280x1024 and AA. Crysis with this card has to be on medium-low and 1024x768 and still have small performance issues. Call of duty 4, it can run it at 1280x1024 all max but with maybe 2xAA and no Multisampling or Supersampling enabled (the HD...

Re: Nvidia GeForce Vs. ATI Radeon
ATi all the way ;) 2 X (crossfired) HD2600XT rockz! How much did you pay for that? 200$? Cuz if you did pay 200$ you made a bad deal, HD3850 and HD3870 are both better than those 2 cards and they are at about the same price. ON-Topic: I started with the GeForce 2 MX (very old PC bought in 2001) and...

Re: Videocards.. which to buy and whatnot.. simply videocards!
That's no improvement at all from your current card, it's basically a X300 with added stuff. Here are some good cards for under 100$: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814143087 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814140089 (<-- Best option) http://www.newegg.co...

Re: -- Crysis --
With what you have Crysis will run on Low maybe some on medium. If you want high details you need at least an 9600GT (which for those who don't know is a bit lower on performance than a 8800GT but with overclocking it's fixable) but even with the 9600GT you will have to run low resolutions (1024x768...

Re: Buying new PC, need approval
I found a Gainward Bliss 9600GT 9082 and it's 175 Euros so i'll be going for that one and i'll be putting the clocks up to 700 on core, 1900-2000 on memory and something like 1800 on shaders so basically that rules out any Radeon. Now i hope it stays in stock.

A quite decent price. But how do I test if my parts are compatible with that MB? And talking about this, is there a test for the compatibility of the parts with my MB?I want to see what is the issue. Re: Post your O SO GREAT system specs!
Why get a Core 2 Quad? It's useless there are barely any applications that run on Full 2 cores and you want a quad core? Sure most applications can't utilize 4 cores on their own, but many people usually want a quad-core because of the multi-tasking ability. Yeah but in games it's gonna be like 2-3...

Re: Need for Speed Going Back To It's Roots?
When I first read that they were suggesting to bring NFS back to its roots, I was immediately thinking of High Stakes and Hot Pursuit. Unfortunately, the more I read, the more I realized that apparently, the roots of NFS are tuners and street racing. What a bunch of losers. If it's true, the...
