Play with the shocks. If your springs are where you want them then you can use the shocks to determine how quickly the car settles after a maneauver. However, if you're only feeling a temporary loss of balance but not losing control then maybe it's not too much to bother adjusting out. If you can ha...

Sigsegv...sounds like you have two problems: the settings may be too stiff. Without any give in the suspension geometry you basically lose all ability to recover. Ie..more aggressive settings are less forgiving. Remember when you were a kid and driving go karts and one day you lost control? You were...

No...you've misunderstood... Typically, stiffer does not equal more traction (unless the car is unreasonably soft to begin with). Once you establish a tight, balanced setup that allows you to approach the car's limits you will begin to notice that the car has tendencies to oversteer, understeer, or ...

Yes that is exactly correct. Shocks control the amount of travel of the springs. It is actually much more complicated than that because the bound and rebound of the shocks interacts with the spring rates. And if the springs are allowed to "bottom out", or fully compress against the stops, ...

Re-read the earlier posts and you'll get that info. The table that you want is more complex than you think because each suspension setting acts as a variable, and each of those variables interact. So you're talking about a 8-dimensional matrix or something like that. I had too much fun in college to...

Yes, because you have to tune your power curve around your gearing. Ie. if you plan to be in 3rd gear at 6000-7000 rpms through your turns then you want to keep your power in that area for the exits.

Ya, I can see how it would be confusing. But really when you think about it, a gearshift takes a fraction of a second. It really isn't slowing you down. What your friend is saying about the gearing is true. Longer gears for less technical, higher speed tracks and shorter gears for more complex track...

That's about what I meant. "Match top to bottom" referred to where the top of the "dot" of the previous gear sits in relation to the bottom of the line of the next gear. In the first few gears you want the top of the "dot" to just be touching the bottom of the line in t...

Zephyr, I highly recommend looking into those books I mentioned. They will help a great deal more (especially for real-world driving) than anything written here. Fun reads too.

The setups I sent you are for higher speed tracks (as I noted). You'll have to tune for the smaller tracks by tweaking that setup. Should only need minor adjustments depending on the problems you are experiencing. Plus, don't forget that with any setup there are limits. On the slower tracks you stil...

Not sure what you mean. Are you saying that when you steer right (nose turns clockwise if you were looking at the car from above) that the rear "lets go" and goes left (clockwise)? That is called oversteer and you just need to stiffen the front and/or soften the rear settings. Start with t...

Well, let's start by you telling me what your current tune is not doing for you. Too much oversteer? Understeer? Is it snapping between the two? When does the problem occur? Throttle on? Throttle off? Turn entry? Turn exit? A mixture of the above? Give me more details and I can help you tune the bad...

Ya, the top speed is a tricky one in the Corolla. I've noticed this as well. Even when using the limiter remover, you still seem to hit one. Best I've figured to do is to set the top speed above what you need. If I find anything new about this I'll post it. Additionally you can't always go by what t...

Keep in mind that I got that 1.04:xx time without using walls and hitting my braking zones and apexes. It's my belief that the actual tracks included should be driven appropriately, ie. without wallriding. The situation is a little different on the city circuit tracks. Why don't you like URL tracks?...

Well, one example time that comes to mind is on the test track. My best time was 1:04.xx without using nitrous anywhere on the track. And I still think I can squeeze that to 1:00 flat. Why can't you access online mode? I guess what I'm trying to convey is that my suggestion to use a Corolla isn't re...

RX7s are great cars...in real life. But they won't stand up to the Corolla in NFS U2. Just read my posts above and you'll find notes for tuning rwd cars like the RX7. Or, as I was going to do for Aggressive, I can tune an rx-7 on this end and give you the specs. However, I highly recommend you just ...

Well, that's kind of what I tried to do in my earlier posts...that is, explain how to generally tune for your purposes. I kept it simple, but not intended as an "idiot's guide" cuz I don't think y'all are idiots. But for NFS U2 purposes, the main things I know right now is that if you want...

Your speed and accel bars are only affected by the parts. The tuning of the ECU and turbo only effect how the power is delivered within the bar area that your car shows. Tuning for drag racing is easy. No sway bar up front, 3/4 sway bar in the rear, 1/4 - 1/2 springs up front, 0 - 1/4 springs in the...

I've noticed a LOT of folks online running the RX8 for circuit mode, and they SPANK my Skyline (stage 3 mods) and my Evo (also stage 3). I haven't tried it yet (lazy), but was wondering if others had thoughts on whether the RX8 was the god car for circuit mode. Makes sense...EA has trended towards m...

They work for me. I can't say it's too helpful either, since there's a _lot_ more to it than changing your angle. For one of the most comprehensive guides, BMI's Drift Bible's not a bad place to start- most of the stuff translates to NFSU pretty easily. Sorry..just thought you guys might find it in...
