Carmageddon challenge
Even MSPaint allows you to do that. Here's how...Tyrant wrote:But how to I have to get my presentation right? I need to cut in the exact sizes etc. Which program allows you that? Irfanview?
Using Challenge Layout Templates With MSPaint
Before you begin, be sure to save the layout template you want to use onto your computer. Just right-click the full size pic on the site here and choose Save As.. or Save Image As..
Now, open the layout template you want to use in MSPaint. To do this, right-click the layout file, and choose edit.
Next, open the car pics you want to use, with the same right click, edit method.
Now you'll have a few MSPaint windows onscreen. Go to the first car pic you want to use and choose the Selection Rectangle tool.
Drag out a selection of the image. Notice down the bottom that it shows you the exact size of the rectangle - make sure that this is exactly the size you need to use for the layout template.
Once you have the right size selected, choose Edit>Copy to copy that part of the pic.
Now go to the layout template and use Edit>Paste to paste in your pic. You can move it around until it fits right in to the layout template.
All you have to do now is repeat this with the other cars pics and you're done.
You could stop here, or you can take things a little further - you could use the Fill Tool (the paintcan) to fill the layout template borders with a different colour, and you can use the Text tool to add some text to the wide dividing line on the pic.
Any questions, just ask!

you don't have to do so. you can use magic eraser in photoshop (if you have it). that makes it easierTyrant wrote:But how to I have to get my presentation right? I need to cut in the exact sizes etc. Which program allows you that? Irfanview?
are we going to have a thread opened for discussing every challenge now?
NEWSFLASH!!
Ok I'm gonna recall some cars I knocked back. After taking another look at the rules, especially this bit...
Of course, if there were other problems, like your layout was wonky or whatever, you'll still need to fix that. But from this point, as long as you actually have the performance parts fitted, that will be ok.
Note that this rule doesn't apply to visuals and body - only performance parts. If you want a stock hood, that's fine.
Sorry for the mixup ppl. I've fixed the rules up now to clear any confusion.

I've decided that it's not clear enough about *which* performance parts you need to fit. Therefore, if I knocked back your car because it had level 2 brakes or something wasn't level 3, I'm now prepared to accept it.The car should have all performance parts installed, because you're not making a nice car, you are making a pedestrian killer and a rammer this time. You should try to show the voters how powerful your car is.

Yeah, Carmageddon rocked. And I liked the one which had K I T T from Knight Rider in it. If I hadn't already uploaded my K I T T to my garage, I think I would have entered it - oh well, guess I'll make something else.
And the best thing about Carmageddon was the Human and Blood patch you could install, that, erm, basically turned the zombies with green goo into fully bleeding red-blooded humans - sweet! I just suddenly wasn't so keen on killing the bikini-clad chicks for some reason...

Ah, you had the censored version then. Mine came with full gore right out of the box...DarrenR21373 wrote:And the best thing about Carmageddon was the Human and Blood patch you could install, that, erm, basically turned the zombies with green goo into fully bleeding red-blooded humans - sweet!
