looks like it was drawn with MS paint..
@ sparco...
Ever notice the render filters put on those images? thats one clue that it may be a render... im not saying it isnt, but you dont see games with Cinematic Blur. I think those are renders of the games and how the may look like in the future...

2furio back on a mission to destroy every console fanboy's dream....
...Sparco, can you give proof that those are nex-gen pictures? According the official site, got from the bottom of the picture, the game will also come out for PC.
Again, I really doubt those are Xbox 360/PS3 pictures. They're either renders or PC pictures. The resolution is way too high for it to be a console picture.
You know, up to now, NO next-gen in-game pictures were ever released. All those *sneak peek* pictures including the Project Gotham Racing 3 picture are renders. The high resolution is enough proof for me.

that's it 2furio keep it up, you're doing a great job.
anyway, about them pics, i personally think they are rendered pics, not just becuase its high res, but also the producers/developers of the game havn't actually said that they are screenshots of a game....... it's just a bit of nicly rendered concept 3d model...

That's PC 100%.
The high res shots are way beyond any console could render. It's 1600x1200. That's huge. HDTV or not, resolutions that high can only be achieved by high-end PCs.
Ha, I was right. Just after I typed this, I checked http://www.gamespot.com and Age of Empire III is a PC-only game.

Of course AOE is PC only, just like all these other great games comming... btw, i wouldnt consider it Nexgen.. Nexgen is basically a game that has gfx of like Shrek 2 or Final Fantasy.. movies like that... personally i dont like gfx like that because they make me dizzy.. Examples of Dizzying games were Doom3 and Deus Ex 2.. They attempted to make a Nexgen game but just came to a mix match of too much bump mapping and lighting...

First off, 3 Ghz is about what you'ld get out of a dated AMD or one of the hot Pentiums. This is nothing special. Yes it may be able to do more than an original AMD, but at this level, it will be like a multi-tasking caveman. He'll be able to do more stuff at once(i.e. large scenes, heavily populated areas, density) but will still lack the comprehension to do it with quality... Can you say "This will be outdated by PC next year?"
A generation beyond ATI x800 is a little cocky to say the least. About 5 years ago most of us didnt even know the glories of bumpmapping, 2 yrs later, look where we are... 2006.. ehh, youll see for yourself...(ever notice PC is always the one with the new technology, while Consoles just have the new hardware?)
Now, I laugh at this all the time, "Final GPU will be more powerful than anything on the market today"... Well.. Today, Nothing is really that great... Right now ATI and Nvidia are working on there Nexgen cards... I'm betting they'll be released right after these Consoles, and PCs once again will be the reigning system as it is today...
Next , "it would handle a game like Half-Life 2 with ease. " umm, seeing that as i have a card 4 yrs old and a average CPU and im still running HL2 perfectly, this makes me suspicious as to why this comment makes Xbox 2 even worth my time.

Oki, Here we go. Let me take you on a tour...Fileplanet wrote: CPU - Xenon's CPU has three 3.0 GHz PowerPC cores. Alpha 2 developer kits currently have two cores instead of three.

Oki... A Shader 3.0 system is the only thing im liking right now, but ofcourse, we'll have this too on PC. Other than that... umm, nothing.Fileplanet wrote: GPU - Xenon's GPU is a generation beyond the ATI X800. Its clock speed is 500 MHz and it supports Shader 3.0. The final GPU will be more powerful than anything on the market today; in game terms, it would handle a game like Half-Life 2 with ease.

Everything in bold sounds like a excuse... a "Just Because" reason...Fileplanet wrote: System Memory - Xenon will have 256 MB of system RAM. Keep in mind that this number should not be equated to typical PC RAM. The Xbox has 64 MB of system RAM and is a very capable machine.

korge,you are forgetting something.
The current consoles are 5 years old and are churning out excellent looking games. They have 5 year old hardware. The next X-box will be approx.12-15 times more powerfull that the current one.And the current one is still keeping up with the PC(mind the low resolutions,it's the TV's fault not the consoles.)It will be such a huge leap,it's unreal.I can only think of a few games on PC that look better than Halo 2,Ninja Gaiden,PGR 2 etc.
Sure the PC will catch up but it will take a while.Mark May 17th in your agenda. It will be the day the new consoles will be unveiled and their capabillities demonstrated. It's going to be revolutionary.

You must be out of your mindNasadus wrote:korge, you are forgetting something.
Once again, You must be out of your mind. 800 by 600, garbage textures, and too much exagerated lighting is not "excellent looking"Nasadus wrote: The current consoles are 5 years old and are churning out excellent looking games. They have 5 year old hardware.
The jump from the AGP to PCI with ATI was about a 4-5 times difference in power...and this was about a year ago...Nasadus wrote:The next X-box will be approx.12-15 times more powerfull that the current one.And the current one is still keeping up with the PC(mind the low resolutions,it's the TV's fault not the consoles.)
The Jump from an Xbox to X800 Video card is about 8 times...
And How is the Current Xbox keeping up with PCs? Place any game on the market to date for pc on the Xbox and it would fry... Over clocking the little thing would kill it and even trying to play a game would have you sitting for hours on the load screen
And the low resolution may be because of TVs, but its still a fact that that resolution is all that the xbox can handle...

Oh man, I can hardly wait until the next generation consoles come out (late 2005/early 2006) and then say to you "Told you so" when I compare PC games with Console Games. The new generation of PC gaming is coming and you can clearly see this in upcoming PC games, NFS MW, Unreal Tournament "Envy", 2 Days to Vegas, Age of Empires III, Half-Life 2: Aftermath, etc.
i am a big PC fan, and i play most of my games on the PC, but sometime its could to play a few games on the consoles, like football (soccer) racing, etc, with your mates and having a good banter with your pals. But that's the only reason i own a ps2, to play with my mates in the same room, rather and online
There you have it... This is the words i was trying to think of...Sir Ibi wrote:...only reason i own a ps2, to play with my mates in the same room...
Not everyone has 3 or 4 pcs in the same house.. i do tho, all hooked uo on LAN.. I use to have more but my dad sold them... See, there is a good reason for old Parts... They make Great PC Hand-me-downs...
