NFSU2 tips
No. Engine upgrade will help you in every situation (more power/torque). Transmission will only help you shift quicker. For dyno test track drag transmission upgrade might help because it's very short, but on regular drag courses top speed is more important in the long run.Jon0 wrote:would i be best to get the tranny upgrade over the engine as a unique?
I have played career with 106 a little bit, and I found that no matter how I tune it for drag even at easy difficulty some of the longer drags were hard to win. It just doesn't have high enough top speed (before redlining). This might change however at level 3 performance when you get the sixth gear (haven't played that long yet with a 106).
I didn't post about the last update to my savefile. I removed the wide body kit from all cars, based on other players comments. I can only confirm that removing the wide body kit reduces rear wheel spin when launching, allowing a lower first gear, 43mph instead of 46mph, which helps reduce ET on a drag run.
Although I dont' really play NFSU2 anymore, someone asked about no nos lap times at OR so I did a session (about 10 runs) and ened up with a no unique, no nos, clean lap time of 1:06.84.

Still using my same savefile:

Tuning help.
Sup every one. New to the site . This site is awesome. .
Now to the point .
I have a corolla in nfsu2 and i have full accell. I have tried the dyno a lot of times but i just cant figure out how to to get the my top speed bar maxed out.
I tried the gear ratio took it all the way back but it made things worst
My car does 0-60 in 2.18 sec and 0-100 in 5.40. 441.3 hp ( took it once to 442) but my top speed bar always shows me a lil bit off the max.
I will really appreciate if some one will help me with that. And if u need help from me for acceleration i will be glad to help you too.
Peace

Setups for Circuit, Sprint, URL, and Streetx
Heyyo, i have NFSU2 for ps2 and love it but anyway, the setups are as follows.
Circuit-
Car- Toyota Corolla
Suspension-everything all to the left except the sway bas and steering ratio which are all the way to the right, trust me it handles like da bomb
Drivetrain- gear it towards accelration
aero-10-f 10-b
tire girp- 10 10
use that setup for circuit, sprint, and url but change the following for street x
for street x put everything to the left in ur suspension except ur steering ratio which is all the way to the right
10 10 aero and tire grip
put the drivetrain towards acelleration all the way its amazing.

Please help !
Hello everybody !
This thread have been VERY useful to me; thanks jeffr !
I know I'm posting in a four-month old topic... but if somebody could answer my question, it would be nice.
I wanted to know what unique performance upgrade (that we win from outrun races) I should choose from :
-Engine or Transmission or Tires
-ECU or Turbo or Brakes
-NOS or Weight reduction or Suspension
Is there a way to get them all ? And can we choose it by ourselves ?
Logically, I'd take : Engine, Turbo and NOS; but I'd like to have the opinion of an expert !
