I guess anyone could say the same to your comment.

Does anyone even have an AMD-64FX? My dads got just the 64 version and he said it runs really fast. But my problem is that on some games, it actually runs slower on the Windows 64 OS. Its weird. :?

My specs which totally suck and need serious upgrading.

CPU: AMD Sempron 2600
Memory: Centon PC3200 512MB
Video card: nVidea GeFroce FX4500 (borrowed from my old man)
Sound card: Sound Blaster Audigy2 24bit (doesn't need upgrading)
Motherboard: DFI NF2ULTRA INFINITY
Power supply: 500watt (need an extra power supply for cold cathode light kits)
hdd: Western Digital 160GB SATA drive

and that's it.

You don't need serious upgrading, just upgrade you cpu (motherboard if neccessary) and you graphics card rest is still fine, and maybe your soundcard if you want better sound.

MSI K7N2 Delta Mother Board w/ dual memory
AMD Athlon 2600+ Processor (I know I need a new one.)
2X DDR 400 256 Meg RAM
160 Gig Western Digital Hard Drive
NVidia AGP 6600 GT Video Card
Logitech X-530 5.1 Sound System (I'm only using two speakers + sub 'cause I'm using on-board sound.)
Some type od DVD-Drive, not quite sure, but it's not a DVD burner.

All-in-all, a decent system, not great. It could definately use improvement though. :P

Why? :?
I have the 2500+ model, and you only need to overclock it, it's a kickass cpu.

Ya, I guess it's not that bad. Do you know how to overclock?

Well, there are several ways.
The better though more advanced and complicated is for you to enter BIOS while your system is booting. You will see something like 'Press del to enter BIOS' (That's on my motherboard) and then depending on what BIOS version you have, the overclocking procedure differs.
Also there are a few programs that offer you to overclock your CPU and GPU while you're in your operating system, but you won't get nice results for that.

You should better consult someone who has skills in overclocking because you can easily burn your hardware.

Thats how I normally do it. I tried it several times on my system. I didnt overclock so much to see results(didnt see any) but rather just to play around with the bios and get a feel for it. I didnt overclock my sytem greatly. just ran the processor a few mHz faster..But ofcourse, not enough to where you could see improvement. :?

Well overclocking is not as simple as you may think. If you overclock your CPU, in games you won't feel any improvement because your gfx stayed stock. If you overclocked the CPU that means it can feed the gfx with data with more speed. So, overclocking of the cpu means that it's more likely you should overclock your gfx also.
Memory overclocking is also a part of complete overclock.

Ofcourse, you have to be sure that your cooling system can handle all the heat after the process.

thats why u always use an AMD chip, dont hav to upgrade ur cooling that much, maybe 1 fan at the back and 1 at the front,
thats wat i use.

Or just use water or liquid metal cooling.

EDIT: check this site for some serious overclocking http://www.madshrimps.be/?action=getart ... rticID=342

Well that's a bit extreme, I don't know how can a normal person get hands on liquid nitrogen and simmilar thingies. An useful link though DoR!

In my PC I have one Zalman CU cooler on the cpu, 2 standard coolers from the back, one from the front, and a disk cooler.
Also the gfx is cooled with a custom Thermaltake model. The aux unit (power) is also of great importance for keeping the air flowing through the case, I own a Codegen 480W with 2 coolers on it.

When I was working on my theme case(Unreal Tournement) I was thinking of popping in a Liquid cooler inside with blue flourecent and all that jazz. I decided not since I was gonna sell the case anyways and no one wants to pay 300 bucks for a case just b/c of some water cooler inside. I got 70 bucks for the case atleast. :D

I have a PCI slot cooler and two 80mm fans on the side panel that keep my case around 90 most of the time. Er, wow, it must be really hot! My computer's idling at 100!
-EDIT- No, that can't be right, I put my hand up to one of the exhaust fans and it felt fine... :?:
