YES THEY DO!!

There are some online stores where you can buy a kit to add to your bike and use gasoline. It also has a side pack on it to carry your pedals and some tools to put them on.

*hijack* If I'm not mistaken, $1.02(CDN)/litre converts to $3.21(US)per gallon*/hijack*

Anyways, I think I might take my bike back to university (I was planning on walking alot anyways, a bike would just make it all quicker), but only if I work on my bike a bit. It's in rough shape (the brakes are weak and a little mushy, and one of the shifters doesn't work), so for now, I'd probably be better off on foot.

I wouldn't call it a bicycle.

Bicycle = pedal power. >_>

as soon as it has a engine it isn't a bike anymore. even if you still have the pedals

you can buy bikes here that have small engines but you still need a (small) license just like with a moped or scooter. even if you pedal around with it. cause it can be use with a engine.

so from the moment it got a engine it isn't a bike anymore

ahem. Did you even LOOK at the picture? If you move your eyes a little over to the left of the motor you will see pedals. It's called motor assist. You know. When you've been riding for one or two hours on bike paths and on your way home you're tired and sweaty and can't make it up that very steep hill. Just pull start the engine and drive up the hill and down it onto your street and down it to your house. That is why the motor is on there.

@Jopuma: No-one cares, so just drop it.

Anyway I'm going to buy a BMX this weekend, because my mountain bike just doesn't cut it at the skate park. My budget is AU$330, so I should be able to get something half decent. :D

Jopuma, engines are heavy if you forgotten that... I don't know who would be able to drive (pedal) that thing uphill, or even or straight road.

And PSZeTa is right, a bicycle isn't a 2wheeler with an engine.

Not a 2 stroke engine like the ones used on scooters. 2 stroke engines are quite light. I use one to do edging on my neighbors lawn every week. It's only a few pounds.

you call that thing QUIET LIGHT???

that bike you posted it like 20 KGS wich is ALOT! you don't want to pedal that uphill

and as I said before a bike even with a assist engine is NOT a bike! in alot of countries even in the LAW it is not a bike as soon as it has any kind of engine.

think it is wise to drop it.

You misplaced the 't' and 'd'. Ok, how the frick does a two stroke engine work?? I know that in a four stroke, the cylinder moves down, the gas/air comes in, the cylibder moves up, compresses the mixture and the spark ingnites it which forces the cylibder down again, then the cylinder moves up forcing the exhaust out. Four strokes... so how can you do that in two srokes?

An edger is a 2 stroke engine. I think a lawn mower is one, but I'm not too sure. I don't know how it works, but I just go by what it says on the label.

It's complicated . . . but in short, it does two things at once during each stroke.

Howstuffworks.com will probably have an explanation, so look there.

And lets stop talking about mopeds! Please!
