i feel sorry for all the blokes that have suffered losses because of the hurricane, but wat really pisses me off is the media. when indonesia was hit by the hurricane, not much media coverage was devoted to them, as much as the americans are getting. and wats this "10 million dollar donation from aussie gov to aid disaster relief" ? i thought america was the richest country in the world, but it still relys on other pple providing donations
New Orleans isnt an Indonesia. It is a pretty historical place. The city of great Cajun food and Jazz/Blues stuff.bashderq wrote:i feel sorry for all the blokes that have suffered losses because of the hurricane, but wat really pisses me off is the media. when indonesia was hit by the hurricane, not much media coverage was devoted to them, as much as the americans are getting. and wats this "10 million dollar donation from aussie gov to aid disaster relief" ? i thought america was the richest country in the world, but it still relys on other pple providing donations
It isnt everyday that a whole US City is completely underwater, has looting, raped children, rescue workers being shot at, a powerplant fire, and no gas for most of the southern US states in just a few days.
korge
i know that m8...i'm talkin in context of the value of human life. sure new orleans may have the best cajun food or blue bands, but it itsnt normal to see ANY city underwater. its sad to see such a famous city destroyed no doubt, but the media paints america now as a poor helpless country..(i've now seen nearly 6 consecutive news reports all dedicated to the survivors on 1 channel. in comparison, the indonesians only got 3 on the same channel)
and lets not even go into biased reports

lol if u must know, i'm analysing news reports. its for my final college thesis, the context of "powerplay"
and btw, thats exactly my point, asking for financial aid. why cant the red cross ask the american gov for help?..must they ask for foreign aid wen they're based in the world's richest country?....hell even the current troops based in new orleans are complainin because of the lack of co-operation from the federal gov.

That is complete sht. The whole city has to be evacuated and rebuilt from the ground up. All the foundations of buildings and things are ruined. In my opinion, that has nothing to do with 3rd world countries. Of course you would know. You live in... huh...You dont live in a 3rd world country... o_0boganbusman wrote:Maybe now they'll know what it's like in 3rd world countries all the time.

In 3rd world countries, people don't even have houses. They live in shanty villages made from junk. Women and children are getting assaulted all the time, and no-one can grow food because of extreme drought. People live in the tip, chasing after garbage trucks to try and scavange some food.
And no one helps them.
I heard that those people who were hurt by the hurricane are anarchying against the governement. The government literaly told them to go to hell. They sent the military and everything and are told to shoot on site. The Venezualan government offered help to the citizens. I don't know if this is all true, but it was in a newspaper in my brothers class.

No no no . . .
The Government can't send help because it is too dangerous. That is why they have sent armed dudes to take control of the violence. When it has all calmed down a bit, then help will arrive.
But the people in New Orleans don't really know what's going on, so they're asuming the the Governent is neglecting them.
Well that's what I heard anyway.

Wow!
Two amazing Mazda's. Well done to both of you.
I am very exited today. We are having and entire Go-Kart tournament, where proper Practices, Qualifying, and Races will be held until 8:30pm. It's something which my dad's work has on every year or so.
I wonder how I will shape up against his workmates
Edit:
Oh yes, yes. I have heard much news about this. Those poor peoplekorge wrote:It isnt everyday that a whole US City is completely underwater, has looting, raped children, rescue workers being shot at, a powerplant fire, and no gas for most of the southern US states in just a few days.

It sucks that old things like Mardi Gras and stuff like that is gone or not going to be around for a while, becauase i planned to go there when i turend 21.....
Gonna be another Galveston?
What i mean about that is that when the Hurricane hit Galveston, the city was in it's prime and very wealthy, just like New Orleans.......

so they decided that it was best 2 respond a coupla days laterCpt.Razkit wrote:The American Govt is helping....... they just passed a bill for 10.5 Billion dollars for the relief of the people in New Orleans and all of that stuff.....bashderq wrote: and btw, thats exactly my point, asking for financial aid. why cant the red cross ask the american gov for help?..must they ask for foreign aid wen they're based in the world's richest country?...
