but sadly people here don't understand that posting a car that isn't yours isn't cool.
it is much better to say that you don't own a car. or own a average car that it true. it gives you more respect then when people find out you where lying...
I personally don't like the hunting for the truth... but some just don't get it. and post something that is clearly not true...

Since this topic is entitled "What car do you drive?" I feel justified in adding this. For work now (I started the job a week ago), I drive one of three different Chevy Chevettes (I think one might actually be a Pontiac Acadian with a Chevette grille, but it doesn't really make a difference). They're, uhh, interesting, I guess. They're all yellow with a big red crown on top (the place I work is called Pizza King), and given that the newest one is still 18 years old, they're a little quirky (I'm still getting used to the carburated part - one is getting very difficult to start). So, yeah, they're all pretty terrible to drive (well, all factors considered, they actually handle half-decently, although it's not really saying much), but on the other hand, I don't have to use my own car (saving me money, and keeping kilometres off my car).

I just got my G1 Driver's License in the mail yesterday (took the test 2 weeks ago and obviously aced it). G1 is a driver's license you can get at 16 by writing a test and you can drive BUT you can't drive alone (must have a G full passenger in front, fully licensed), can't drive on highway or at night.
I don't hvae my own car yet but my dad has a 2003 Honda Accord 4-Door Sedan (NA Version) and I might take it for a spin, so I'll probably post some pictures later on, kind of lazy now.

I don't know why people have to lie about their cars. I don't really care if you have a really expensive and cool car. I myself drive my dad's rusty old Saab 900i 16v from -91.
It has 375tkm (or so) on it's meter. So it's a piece of crap
. I think i'm not going to buy my own car until i move out and get a fulltime job.

Don't forget the part about the fully licenced driver has to have their G for over four years. Anyways, planning on taking driver's ed? I highly endorse it. Even if you learn nothing useful, it cuts the waiting time for the G2 down to 8 months, and helps cut down on insurance (which is insanely expensive for a new driver in Ontario).2furio wrote:I just got my G1 Driver's License in the mail yesterday (took the test 2 weeks ago and obviously aced it). I didn't put in all the details about the drivers so I wouldn't bore people. Of course I'll take a driving course, I heard Young Drivers is really good (kind of expensive - $1000) but I heard it really cuts down on the insurance. And I want to get my G2 before August of next year (so I can go to Romania with a "real" license), so I need to get a driver's course to cut the time into 8 months.Hecubus wrote:Don't forget the part about the fully licenced driver has to have their G for over four years. what is the minimum age in Romania... and how old are you now?
cause if it is 18 there and you are not 18 before you go there. chances are your licence is as good as worthless.
I seen people here that came from the US at 17 with a licence but it was worthless here couse they are not 18
or aren't you going back soon?

I would hope Young Drivers is good, at $1000. I only took the course offered through my school (I think the company was AMB driving school or something like that, I don't remember), and it's cut down on insurance too. I honestly couldn't tell you if the insurance companies take your driving school into account. Oh, and does the G2 count as a "real" license? I know my parents wouldn't even contemplate letting me drive in the US until I got my G, but then again, they're paranoid.2furio wrote:I didn't put in all the details about the drivers so I wouldn't bore people. TheStig, the limit in Romania is probably 18 but if I get the G2, there's no reason why I wouldn't be able to drive. I mean it's a valid license plus screw them, I got my license and I don't care about some stupid age limit there. They can't do anything...I hope.
Hecubus, well if you have G2, you can drive alone, at night, except you can't drink at all. The only thing you can't do is drink, you need G-full for the 0.08 limit. Chances are I will go with Young Drivers since one of my friends took it and he said it's great and worth it.
