Vinyl template???

Post by alexhull24 »

Does anybody know if there is some sort of template for the vinyls of each car, so that you can tell where each section of the car starts and ends when editing? e.g. hood, sides, back etc.

yeah Tfast, that's for what car? It doesn't help at all!

Use body vinyl 1 & 2 to figure out where the bumpers and wheel arches are, as well as the back. Than use Rob Zombie vinyl, and the vinyl where yuo have Angel on one side and Death on the other to see where the textures meet on the hood and sides. You can also throw in the vinyl with the rocket - it gigives you the clear indication of where hood lines and roof lines end. If you put all those vinyls on top of each other and set their transparency as needed, you will have the idea for how to make ANY vinyl you want. And you'll have your own template. Besides, if you use rulers, it helps as well.

tfast, that is fairly helpful as a rough guide, but not for every car.
I think pacodog has the right idea though, but it is difficult to do.

I have found these just now by this guy. He did an excellent job, in 3D max. So far there is GOLF and Skyline in widekit mode. Excellent stuff, check it out. Now we know where those Side vied mirrors are! :)
