I don't where else to post this, but here goes.....

If I buy an SLI motherboard, would I still be able to use ATI graphics card or even ATI's crossfire?

I don't see the problem why not, but if you want to use it in crossfire then you need a crossfire ready board not a sli board.

Hey I got a eMachines T2596 with a 350 watt power supply( i know it sucks) and i was wondering if i could upgrade to a new graphics card and not have any problems cause my father keeps saying that the motherboard wouldnt be able to handle it.Right now i have an nVidia GeForce MX 4000 with 64 mb. And if upgrading to a new one would cause problems, what is the highest i can go to for under $150.

@ Weedman. Go to http://www.newegg.com and look. It isnt hard. But I shouldnt see a problem with upgrading a prebuilt system. I know the $500 dell system wouldnt, but Emachines are usually more expensive.

Not only the graphics card must be comtabile, also the rest. You have to check out your drivers (graphics drivers, chipset drivers .. ) an the video programs on your PC. the following programs must be installed, if you'll be able to watch any video you want: Media Player 10, Quicktime, DivX, Macromedia Flashplayer

And of course, your other Hardware is also important for decoding a video.

Alert!

My Firefox won't load flash animations/websites any more!

When the http://www.needforspeed.com website was updated, I visited it and a splash screen told me "YO Dude! the new Macromedia 8 is out! Download it!" so I did it. And since that time, the flash sites doesn't work in Firefox so I have to use IE6

Suggestions? thx! :P

I need more advice . . .

To keep up with the rest of my PC, I decided to buy some more RAM. I ordered 512MB (256x2, matched pair) and I was wondering if I should use the matched pair or one of the pair and the existing RAM in my system.

I ask this because the RAM I ordered isn't as good quality as what I already have. They are just cheap single-sided modules and the one I've got is a better, double-sided module.

But apart from that they are the same spec (PC2100, DDR, 266MHz). And in case you haven't worked it out, I've only got two RAM slots in my MB. So what do you think? Should I use the pair or mix and match? The module that gets rejected will be sold on eBay . . .

Why didn't you just buy 1x 512mb?.
They cost just about the same or it could cost even less if you buy one 512mb.
At least over here...

Yeah they cost about the same, but that is completely irrelevant. I can only afford to have 512 in total. That's why I'm going to sell the leftover module.

Now it would be really nice if someone could help me, seeing that this is the 'help' thread and not the 'make fun of people who can't afford stuff' thread.

What do you mean "can only afford 512mb in total" ?
You just bought 512 more so now you have 768mb, right?
I don't really get it...
