I don't know about track racing but I have to say in pursuit My favorite cars where the Monaro VXR (I had it with only a supercharger and rest stock for almost the whole game) and the Mercedes CLK are great cars they are rather heavy so they have alot of momentum to go streight trough a roadblock without loosing to much speed.
The Elise is a great car even stockwise but in pursuit is is not really good, it simply does not have enough weight to plow streight trough a roadblock and keep a decent speed.
I did not buy the Carerra GT cause I did not have enough money. but tried it in single race mode and have to say it is a good car, will buy it this career.
Ooh and don't look at the performance bars cause they don't mean anything.
your car can have a really high topspeed but the bar is almost empty or a rather low top with a full bar.
Atm I got 2 cars with almost the same specs on the bars:
Chevrolet Cobalt SS and a Porsche Cayman S
both have the same top speed according to the bars. but the Cobalt tops out at 293 Kmh and the Cayman goes over the 330

Yo guys!
About the bars... You shouldn't read the bars as a comparation between each car.
The bars are, in my opinion, relative to one another in the same car. If a car has maxed Top Handling and Top Acceleration and just Half Top Speed, it means that this car strong points are Handling and Acceleration. What it doesn't mean is that it's Top Speed is, for certain, lower then the one from othar Car with Maxed Top Speed. Things are not connected.
At least is how I see it!
Cya!

I'll stick with my SL 500, it beats everything thown at it so far (blacklist #8).
It has 7 gears, so acceleration is smooth and consitant. Goes over 200 mph. Can be accessed quite early in the game.
It's just a shame it's not a SL 55/65 AMG.
BTW does the CL 500 handle better than a SL 500 in real life?

Smooth run jeffr, looks fast enoughjeffr wrote:The bars don't matter. The two fastest cars are the Lotus Elise, which out corners everything, and the Porsche Carerra GT, which corners almost as well, accelerates better, and more has top speed (240mph versus 230mph with NOS). I made a video of a 1:35.05 run in the Lotus Elise at Rockridge and Union to demonstrate how fast the Elise can be. CL is the compact series..well i think thats wot the C stands for..the S stand for Sports? ...in real life SL is much faster...Atominist wrote:I'll stick with my SL 500, it beats everything thown at it so far (blacklist #8).

I thoguht Carrera S is my fav..but comapre with my beloved SL500...SL500 just got that percfect handling i seek, i like sharp turning cars, carrera S grips wayyyy too much...it feels as thoguh its ont raintracks half the time...the car handles so great that im broed of it..lol SL500 skids round corner..back slides out..i ease off gas, gain control...floor it...now thats wat i call fun!!
think SL500 is still my fav car in the game (really wished it was SL500 AMG)

Hmm, think I need to make a correction to my favourite car to date...
Just beat Bull (Nr 2 on the Blacklist in his McLaren SLR) - with my Mitsubishi Lancer Evo!!
I couldn't beat him with the Viper SRT10, kept crashing out near the end of races; guess it's because the Evo is a 4x4 and handles so much better.
Really must try my beloved Monaro VXR soon and the Elise...

The Mercs are nice but thing that bothers me is that the rpm range is really short so you have to change gears all the time. That's propably one of the things why I like the RX-7 so much.
But what do you think of the Mustang GT. Drove it for the first time last night and it suprised me, coz I really thought that handling would suck, but intstead it was a really nice to drive. And it's fast also.

My best time at Rockridge and Union is a 1:33.56 in the Porsche Carerra GT. There are a few players that have gotten under 1:33. However, getting a sub 1:34 for me happens maybe once in 20 tries.Bauke777 wrote:Smooth run jeffr, looks fast enoughjeffr wrote:The bars don't matter. I like the RX-7 too, 6 gears is just fine and it beats everything thrown at it. I just tried the 7 gear Mercedes SL500 and my RX-7 would murder it.Felixkissa wrote:The Mercs are nice but thing that bothers me is that the rpm range is really short so you have to change gears all the time. CL is based on the S-Class, thus larger than the SL.
The C-Class is the smallest in the sedan series. The C SportCoupé is, as the name says, the coupé of the C-Class. The CLK AFAIK is based on the E-Class, while the CL is based on the S.
The CL500 is only around 40 kgs heavier than the SL500, but the wheelbase is a lot longer.
Uh, yes. You are just being RX-7 headed so nothing is better than your RX-7.James31278 wrote:I like the RX-7 too, 6 gears is just fine and it beats everything thrown at it. I just tried the 7 gear Mercedes SL500 and my RX-7 would murder it.
There is NO CL in Most wanted
only a CLK but for the rest what PSZETA said is basicly correct.
the C does not stand for compact in a CL or CLK, the C stands for Coupe both the CL and the CLK are coupe versions of a bigger car (the S and the E class)
But I have to say I really do wonder why they did not have the SL65 AMG in the careermode but a SL500. I like the CLK500 but would be nicer if it was a CLK55 AMG, or that they added a CL65 AMG, they did have a CL55 AMG in HP2
I find it kinda sad that the Porsche 911 GT2 and the Mercedes SL65 AMG are both only single race cars together with the M3 and the C6R...
The reason why the Mercs (SL500 and CLK500) have 7 gears is because they are infact the 7speed automatic gearboxes by mercedes, and in game you can make them Manual

In the game yeah thats what I was talking about. Ok yeah the RX-7 is better than the Merc in real life too, all the mercedes stands for is someone with alot of money who can't drive worth a damn. Haven't seen one person in a merc who could drive.PSZeTa wrote:Wrong. The Flying Dragon wrote:CL is the compact series..well i think thats wot the C stands for..the S stand for Sports? ...in real life SL is much faster...

Thats true a merc doesn't compare to the greatness of the RX-7.Kid Cro wrote:Well I think that you cannot compare Rx-7 with CLK500 or SL55 in game,or in real life.
I would rather drive Merc wich I am driving now.(E400)
