well, would you ever post your passport number or personal ID number online? Didn't think so.
Today's firetruck (*wow, can't believe this didn't get cencored) up terrorist world and fraud on internet a pretty good reason to protect your own privacy, at any level. That was my reason. ;)

Yes, agreed re the passport, id numbers, anything personal, but it doesn't bother me about the car - I don't smear my plates with grease driving around on public roads to make sure other drivers can't see them, and I can't think how this is any different.

I'm pretty sure Sp3ak's onto the real reason why ppl cover their plates in Internet posts - they're posting pics of their cars engaged in illegal activity and don't need the heat coming down on 'em. The worst crime I'm committing here is parking on the sidwalk in a deserted lot - if I get stung for that on the strength of these pics, I'm prepared to pay the $12 fine.

Some one can use your license plate when stealing a car. that's most common reason, at least in East Europe. Of course the worst is when they actually steal the plates themselves.. Had this happend to 2 of my friends. not cool! :)

Thanks Grez!! Now what about that spoiler?? I think you can see that in RL I really prefer a clean look - I've been thinking the car might be better with any spolier at all??? Comments??

can't you get the Orig R34 spoiler... that one rocks... not to big just right...

BTW GT good point about the plate...everybody on the road can see it.... and they are a bigger threath to you car or money...

I you get a ticket here... they alway strack down what car it is on.... think they do the same in OZ, so dont; think he have to worry, maybe some one with a R32 would use it....

I blured it, cause its not my car... and don't wan't it to be linked to something else... (could be bad publicity...)
and Even my Passport number or ID number, I could post it if it had to.... not that anyone askes here... so what if a Idiot makes a repica with my NR... they can do that with out ever seeing your number... same for License plates, most are replica's from cars the did not even see...

I think that the spoiler is alright...May be you coul work on the front bumper instead? it's too stock imo, and from the front the skyline looks just like any early 90-s jap car, be it legacy, camry, accord... you know what I mean? May be some clear indicators... ;)

Hmm nice ideas... Funny thing, stupidly I managed to rear end a wagon about a year ago in it. Was only doing maybe 15kmh at the time of impact - quite a low speed bump in heavy traffic. Anyways, the front bar bent around the guy's towbar like a banana and I got it fixed under insurance. At the time the repairer asked if I want to fit a custom bar, but I turned him down...

Yep, I'm with ya there - no Veilside for me - mayeb something a little cleaner. I really want to stay away from making a GTR lookalike tho - it's not a GTR, and I have no interest in ppl thinking it's something that it's not...

Here's a real R32 GTR in factory spec. These are twin turbo 2.6l 6cyl, 4wd, 4ws, mine is single turbo 2.0l 6cyl, rwd, 4ws...

Image

Here's a shot of a GTS like mine with the spoiler removed. It has the GTR frront bar. If you can forget the advertising, it's nice huh?

seriously, clear turn indicators would do tons of change. ;) And cheap too - can't be more than 100 Euros...

arent GTRs 2.6l? not that it matters lol. Anyway, you have my respect for steering away from making it look like a GTR, as you said, no point making it something its not, GTS's are a legend in their own right. Ill have a look round for some R32 fronts, as for the spoiler, an R33 GTR spoiler wouldnt look too bad (like inferno spoiler from nfsu), would look clean still.

@UrQ - yeh I agree clear flashers would up the look of the car a lot for only a little money. I searched around a bit, and found where to buy 'em, but can't find an on-car pic yet...

@Grez - Oops! My bad - the RB26DETT is a 2.6l, not a 2.4... :roll:

It's a beauty... When the radiators are exposed like that, I like it a lot... some honeycomb RS grille would cover it nicely.

Here's some more Do Luck stuff Grez found for me... I'm liking the front here, but the rest is a bit too Skyline Mantis for me.. :D

One question - where are you expected to hang your licence plate on these things? Might need to get some small plates...
