I did it!
I moded the savegame so you car buy the car from the car lot, and tune it in my cars. It is rather simple to do so check out:
You have to replace another car to do so. Choose from those which you don't like (aka: crappy beggining cars). Download Hex Workshop (google for it) and the tool prince1142003 told us about ( http://www.cheathappens.com/show_download.asp?ID=20133 ).
Make shure the car you want to replace is not in your garage or one of "My Cars". I will tell you how to replace Punto and Cobalt.
Now, open Hex Workshop, open the save game you want to have the camaro at and look for the key of the car to be replaced (use the find function): the Cobalt is 9540785A9540785A , the Punto is 117AEEA6117AEEA6. Change the one you want for the one of the Camaro 1945949019459490.
Now save the file, open the savegame tool and fix the checksum. Done! Launch the game and load your profile. go to the car lot, the Camaro is aviable for 5 dollars.
If you want to have the cars back as before, just replace the key back to its original.
I will look into doing this with the M3.

The ones of the Punto and the cobalt where easy, I just started a new game, Bought the coblat, then took the same save before buying the car and bought the Punto. With Hex Workshop I compared the two file, and they had very little different things., I just tryed until changing this for that, changed the car.prince1142003 wrote:How did you figure out they keys for the cars?
Finding the key for the Camaro was even easyer, because Satic-X told us.
At first I was trying to replace a car I Had bought for the Camaro but It did'nt work. (the body disapeared, and everithing else was still the old car's parts. It was a coincidence that I cahnged the key for the cars you could buy.
@TunerFreak, yes, I suppose you could (I mean thare sould be anityng why you couldn't, but still, the car would cost 300.000 U$S (see that the Camaro costed 5) so it would be pretty useless, exept for tuning in my cars in the early stages.
Now heres a thing for someone else to look at. The hood of the car is attached to the body, so it can't be changed. But the Spoilers and Roof Scoop can! Thing is the car has not specifyed whre they should be put, and they just appear in the center of the car. If it is possible, this should be edited so the parts appear where thay should.
Now thare are two things Admins sould do: 1) Sticky this thread.
2) Change the FAQ.
3) (Extra) Put this in News section maybe.
NOBODY expects the Spanish Inquisition! Our chief weapon is surprise...surprise and fear...fear and surprise.... Our two weapons are fear and surprise...and ruthless efficiency.... Our *three* weapons are fear, surprise, and ruthless efficiency...and an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope.... Our *four*...no... *Amongst* our weapons.... Amongst our weaponry...are such elements as fear, surprise.... I'll come in again.
i tried what you said and it works.
ichanged the cobalt with the camaro
then i tried the same with the m3 and the punto, but then the game thinks that my savegame does not exist
edit:
are in the game any cars with a compressor?
when you want to install performence parts at the camaro there is a compressor symbol instead of the turbo
maybe some parts exist for the camaro
btw you can install ultimate nitro at the camaro

such far as we've come with hex editing, this all i know:
the car dictates what performance parts areavailable for it. this is why you can have 4 performance parts in each category for starting cars like the golf, and two for cars such as the carrera gt. installing parts other than those cause a crash.
so, we would have to find out exactly how the game chooses the parts first in order to trick it.
as for roof scoops and spoilers, the geometry.bin file for the car dictates positioning. as far as i remember, that hasn't been decoded yet

Nice too see someone figured out an easier way to get the camaro
You still can't mod the performance parts, I found the modifiers in the savegame file and when I tried too edit it the game crashes. You can only add junkman parts.
I also know some more bonus cars codes:
Corvette C6R:
9E5765019E576501
Porsche 911 GT2:
6FF43E9B6FF43E9B
Mercedes SL65 AMG:
A1F94771A1F94771
There are 3 kinds off BMW's, I'll give all the codes.
BMW M3 GTR Street:
A6FEC2813F0888CD
BMW M3 GTR Race #1:
4E4ACC23B35F084E
BMW M3 GTR Race #2:
4E4ACC23F8E0DA39
One of the Race GTR's is the one you drive in the beginning of the game, the other is the one you get back at the end.
Good luck with it.

WOOOT!
i got all cars into one savegame!!! seems like we've been editing the value for the car in the carlot. once you buy it from the carlot, the values get stored somewhere else in the savegame. this way, it's possible to edit the punto and put in a camaro, buy it, and the edit the punto again, and put in a GT2.
the value for the Punto can be found at address 6065 (Hex). just change it up everytime you want a new car.
here's proof. a savegame with the 3 BMW's, Corvette C6R, Mercedes SL65, GT2, and the Camaro.
EDIT:
now i have reason to go back and do a new career mode =D
notice how one of the red BMW's have better values than the other? the better one is the one you get at the beginning of the game. so, razor modified your car to make it worse?
also, i can't seem to get the BMW vinyl on them. that means that the vinyl can only be gotten through it's hex code. which shouldn't be too hard to find =D
