How fast have you driven yourself, or been driven?

Ok! I worked for a friend of my family who were restauring and rebuilding performance and classic cars! He had just arriwed from Hamburg Germany, where he bought that Testarossa secondhand..it had some Koenig performance parts, the muffler set and something more..not quite sure what it was now! Then he asked me if he should take me for a spin in it....and on a looong strait on the E4 between Gjoevik and Oslo he topped the car...and even he was impressed by it's performance! I will never forget the noice and the feeling i got as it went faster and faster..my god i almost came...ROFL:) I had a few encounters with italian high performance cars back then...for almost two years -96-98 I even worked at the former national Ferrari Importeur.

that's like 160ks, that's not much! I used to do that in my VW every day on the way back from school (when the road was dry - there is a nice hill in the forest, where you peak out at 150-60 ks, and than you gotta break right away, becasue there is a turn that tightens and there is a drop outside too. Love that road, such an adrenaline rush - had girls scream all the time. Once it got close! went on the opposite lane - lucky ongoing traffic! I wish I had a video camera, that'd be anice place to make a little film...

LOL. I know I'd be very afraid... Cuz Twingo is so small.. Well there are other small cars, but Twingo doesn't really have a normal front part.. the hood is like 30cm long ?TheStig wrote:well not ba for a 1.2.... wheren't you afraid.... 150 in a TWINGO
You hit a sidewalk and you're dead lol.
Anyway, I reached 160 in my Corsa, (top speed is around 175) and I wasn't afraid at all.. it handles pretty good..

The beemers the safest feeling car at speed. I remember hitting the limiter, it felt like i was barely going 90mph. (used to be my mates dads car, but i bought it just before the supra, although I have to pay him in installments lol). Has a nice sounding V8, but it doesnt growl until the higher rpms...

Just got a phone call from my brother. Apparently he was cruising along the motorway at 105mph when he got overtaken..by a mclaren!! It was down near his RAF base in Norfolk, apparently it was going that fast it was like he was parked up.

the fastest ive been in was in my friends fixed up honda accord- we were going something like 120 mph.... but the fastest ive actually gone was only 90 mph in my 1986 celica.... yea its old and its leaking everything, but im surprised that it doesnt shake at high speeds, i should have pushed her further but then i got scared of cops.... well neways ive beaten a few cars in my celica, namely a 1989 mustang and a 2003 chevy cavalier, and a mid 90s corolla... yea i know its not a list, but hey id say not bad... oh yea i forgot to mention that i have manual and they all had automatic... so i guess thats why i won... or maybe my 97 hp celica has more power than its listed.... but most likely not.... mustve been the driver....me!!! lol
