Only for drag racing. 240sx is the best car in U2 for drag racing. However, it can't do sub 1:10 no-nos laps at Outer Ring or do well at street x (videos):
The SL500 is a really good car in MW... but i think it is the worst car in the game for the drag races.... its 2nd gear is to short because it has 7 gears and it stuffs up the start of the race.... for me anyway.

No corsa in the US version. How hard is it to do a sub 29 lap at the last street-x track in the corsa?
From what I've heard and experienced, Corolla's are best for sprint/circuit and 240's are best for drag. I had a unique 240 I played online with, and I smoked pretty much anyone I raced.

Now you're asking a tricky question! Unfortunately, I uninstalled the European version and installed the US version as I wanted to drive the Integra Type R (or RSX as it's called in U2). I just remember easily lapping everything in my tuned Corsa when I was playing European version!
the corolla makes the game to easy it corners like a dream
but i just love the RX7 i got a monster that is putin out 540BHP. a friend of mine is doin 18:74 on south run way with it
I can only say for UG2 wich car is the best. Coz I played MW so litlle that I still did not manage to try all cars. And For circuit best car is corola and for Drag 240SX and RX-7.

well i shall say one more thing... i was like testing all cars and best for me is M3 GTR... on the track NFS world (sprint) i got with it 5:48:xx... now i dont know how fast is that... someone is probably laughing at me cause its like slow, but i cant do better right now and its just best ride for me... best thing about M3 is cornering... its not loosing that much speed and cornering angle is realy wide...
