Post by 99k »

About a month ago i bought Guild wars with hardly klnowing anything about it just tjat you buy the game and no monthly fees yet its online. Whilst i was waitng for it to come i looked at the game. Max lvl 20 :( but i found out some things seemed really good.

The best thing is tho that you dont pay monthly!

One weekend they let you try out the new addon guild wars factions. I found it fun to go out in a party and kill some lvl 20+ as you started at lvl 20. Another good thing is you may have experienced struggling to get a party for what you want to do. So the wonderful free (ingame money) henchman are here to rescue you. Computer controlled players (npc's). Although you can only have one type of henchman they are really good at there job.

Also The game is entirely instance based. In a city you see everyone outiside of them its just you and your party.

I'm getting close to buying this game as well. But I use a Linksys wireless USB adapter. It gets anywhere from 11 or 12 Mbps to 24 Mbps. Sometimes 36 but that's rare. There's a couple doors and a few walls between the adapter and the router on my dad's computer, which runs on cable.

I'm wondering if my connection will be fast enough to avoid lag on Guild Wars. Their website says it's not recomended. But what I may try to do is find out if I can run a cable from the router to my computer. I would think I can, right? I would think I can get a cable extension thing to run through the attic and into my room. Then I'd have faster internet. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Well I have to say that GW is a great game. Ive been playing alot reently. It's got a good storyline. If you live in the UK you can get it from play.com for under £20 (even the special edition). And for a mmorpg the graphics are great and also theres an addon coming out at the end of this month. Guild wars factions.. There was a preivew event where you could play it for the weekend and the addons great. If you like mmorpg's or rpg's you will like this.
