custom vinyls for NFSU2 and NFSMW now possible!!!

hi all,
its now possible to make your own vinyls for Underground 2 and Most Wanted. the program is called mwtex,i found it on nfsplanet.com. u can now export a file from the BIN file as dds and then import it back. it is made for MW but i tried it and it works with U2 aswell. vinyl creators, get busy!

here is a pic of my attempt. this was the last body vinyl( the one with the fires). i tried typing my nickname, its just bellow the window.

hey, i got the MXtex, now i have one question...how do u load the vynils.bin file into the mwtex? thx

shift+ right click on vinyl.bin, then choose "open with..", then "selete program form list", "browse", then point it to where you unziped your MXtex

or load teh mwtex program and right click on the tables and select load.....

anyone have something like they did with nfs underground where they had an outline of the cars when ur designing a vinyl. id like one of the ford mustang.

i am working on the templates, but there is a big problem, they turn out in very poor quality and i have to find a way to improve( they are to pixelated)

after i tried to make the outlines, i was shocked , cause nearly every bodykit seems to have its own outlines, so i gave it up, who has the time to make them gets my full respect.

i would love it if someone made a custom mustang vynal that made the car look like a shelby gt500 with Blue stripes down the midle & little blue ones along the side of the car that said GT500 in little writing near front wheels like a real gt500! (that would be awsome if anyone's taking requests?

I would make them for you , but it seems you want the vinyls for UG2 and i have sold my copy of this game month ago.

Id like to try doing some vynil editing,is there anyplugin to get DDS into corel draw photo paint and back?I tryd Nvidia dds utilities but nothing happens when I click on them , I think maybe they is just for photoshop?.Any help welcomed.Thanks.

you're absolutely right traxx, it does have more outlines, but depending on the vinyl dimensions itself, you can take any vinyl from ug2 and put it on MW, for that SAME CAR

but then again, sometimes, for some strange reason the vinyls come out tilted a bit

kinda frustrating to do it once, and it comes out good and then do the same thing again, but this time it actually works....i don't know, maybe the damn thing is on the fritz

Those are command line utilities. Open a command window (start -> run -> cmd) and use readdxt to convert from dds to tga and nvdxt to convert bmp/jpg/gif/tga back to dds.
Though readdxt didn't work properly here.

Open CARS\SUPRA\VINYLS.BIN with MwTex and extract SUPRA_DEBUG.DDS, this file contains the outlines.

I tryd run, com,browsed to readdxt,the DOS? window just flashes and dissappears?Like I said I havent done command prompt stuff.Thanks anyway.

Ok now im going to try gimp dds plugin,gimp V2.2 .

No luck just error mess sayin dds file wont load,and plugin failed.I give in.
