oh yeah sorry.... didnt remember the sportcoupé. i only thought about the sedanvellu wrote:Well, perhaps not the starting price for a C-series, but the average price definitely. Cars are heavily taxed in Finland...
The "cheapest" listed on a finnish car dealer site is:
Mercedes-Benz C-sarja C 160 Kompressor Sportcoupé 37900€
And that's the starting price, add extras and what ever equipment you need on top...

Master M is from Belgium
If we have to alot of Expensive cars here... I wonder where they hide them
I know a few expensive cars where I live, some I saw on a regular basis.
Last Weekend I was in belgium, and I noticed they had alot of rather expensive cars, but in general they where POS cars like the X5 and the likes. and ofcouse massive amounts of ricebuckets.

Ok now I get it Pabl0z, but the reason why our prices are so high is also because of the taxes. we have to pay 2 kinds of tax.
normal tax like every other product that you buy.
and special car tax. wich is around 40% of the baseprice of the car. and above the base price you pay a other 19%. (you don't pay tax over tax. both are on the bare sell price.)
so lets say a 10.000 euro car (new base price)
you pay 1900
and a extra 4000
so the final selling price will be 15.900 euro.

Yeah well i talked about the car prices with Kekumrulez and our prices are almost exactly the same as yours.
But i don't know which country has the bigger taxes.
I think there was only one country that had bigger taxes on cars than we do.
I couldn't find better info but it said on one webpage that our car taxes used to be 50% of the selling price of a car.
So a 20.000€ car contains 10.000€ of taxes.
They said on that page that the amount of taxes has dropped but i haven't noticed anything.
I think we still have higher taxes than you do but because we have i think the second cheapest cars in the EU region that the prices are the same as yours with the taxes.

lol wut
I think it was in 2003 when the car tax was lowered abit in finland, but it really didnt do much. The biggest difference after 2003 is that we get to import cars from anywhere in the EU without having to pay sh*tloads of taxes (yes, in plural).
Im not sure but i think only denmark have more expensive cars than Finland in europe. Might be that NL has abit more expensive, but im not sure. As pabloz already said, the car prices in Finland are actually one of the cheapest in EU, but the taxes make the cars very expensive here.
Anyways, back to topic. these are the ones i cam remember now: bmw E46 M3 yesterday; a few weeks ago a saleen mustang (i have no idea what it's real name is, but it was the new mustang); bmw 760iL yesterday; bmw E60 M5, in april i think; bmw E39 M5, also in april; jaguar xkr, this month; MB cl55 AMG carlsson tuned, the owner lives near us; MB cl500, yesterday. i think it was in middle april i saw a ferrari f430 convertible. we were out driving with my dad, and he asked me if he should floor it, i said yes ofcourse. the ferrari guy didnt like that, and he flew past us with a really nice sound of a really nice V8
