I've just been listening to De La Soul's last album - The Grind Date, and I have to say it is awsome! I just love how they mix together lots of different samples coupled to amazing lyrics - it's just great fun listening to them :D instead of nursey ryhmes that 50 Cent comes up with...

i liked 50 the first couple year, when he was doing his mixtape thing, one of my fav songs is how to rob the industry, but once he got on jada and fat joe for doing New York wit ja rule, i kinda lost respect for dude. In NY he doesn't have any respect from anybody I should know i live here

He was pushed off the stage by the police...not because he is no good.
Have you ever heard any of lil scrappy's songs?... He is really good...you should listen to 'no problems', 'be real', booboo N1ggaz' and 'head bussa'. they are really good...he is featured in alot of songs that are good to... 'gone' by trillville, Feel my pain by the game and pussy n1ggas by E-40 are good songs that he is in.

I dont really like young geezy that much, but i only have about 4 of his songs. 'peace up a town down' is the only decent one by him that i have heard... also, i want to get tech n9nes album, absolute power...i saw that at myer yesterday too..but i will get the other 2 first.

Take a listen to Roots Manuva people.

Not all rappers talk about money and bitches, thats a generalization because you have only listened to a few rappers...

Nas raps about his life
Jay-Z copied lines from Notorious B.I.G
Chamillionaire raps about how it is in Texas
The Game raps about how it is in Cali

I just got Ice Cube's new album, picked it up right before i left Best Buy last night...

rappers like 50 cent dont always rap about money and bitches... in alot of his songs he raps about his life. Many men (wish death) is one of them. 'be real' by lil scrappy is one of the best examples for that...but he doesnt really rap about money ECT that much anyway

Well a few isn't enough if most of them are still about money and bitches.
That just tells you their lyrics are poor and lack imagination.

some better than none...some people think that every rap song is about that, i get annoyed when people complain that all rappers rap about that.
50 cent is one that always has people talking about his rhymes, that they have no meaning to them. alot of his songs are about his life, with alot of meaning, or in bits of them he gets into things that have meaning to them.

Again i didn't say all.
But you're mostly listening to all sorts of mainstream rappers that are mostly rapping just about those things.
And rapping about your life... Well it isn't really that creative either.

Bull..... heck you have Eminem making money off of Tupac's death
Unless you know how it is in the music business (and I'm not saying I do...) don't just come out and say "it isn't about this, blah blah blah"

Unless you loo beyond all these mainstream rappers who only do it for the money (50 cent being the prime example) and actually listen to rappers who give a damn about how good their music sounds (not just some words rapped together in some lame background music) then by all means, think the way you do...

Oh, and rapping about your life is far from 'creative and new' as some/most idiots on MTV, etc say... it shows no creativity what-so-ever
