hey guys
it seems like nfs carbon its going to be another hit so far, huh????
well,im hoping it does, cause mw was pure crap(no offense to mw fans,,i just hate that nfsu title.)
first of all, costumization on mw was poor.in nfsu1 and 2 you were able to desing your own bodykit, vinyls set, audio, doors and even a dyno to tune your ride to maximum performance. almost all of these features that made u1 and 2 a hit, were left out of mw making it boring as hell.
this was so crappy that even on this website was very clear to see.when it came down to tune cars on mw,here in the site was very high the probability of 2 cars from 2 diff tuners to be the same exact cars, they might be in diff colors and in diff pres but, that is like eating the same food everyday just in diff plates...totally boring and routine...blah!!! next
also some of the racing and competitions mode that were on u1 and 2 that succesfully brouthg a lot of attention to the game were left out as well. what it was drifting, url, street x ect...dind`t appeared on the mw title which made me hate the game totally. well, the police chasing was good , i give them that, but dam
,dind`t you think ppl will get tired of it eventually
jjeeeeezzz
well anyway i hope they get rid of some the ugly hihg end cars they have on mw and put some more imports into the game,,ppllllssss,,, EA,,i beg you for that
other than that,i just hope they make this game good(like u1 and 2) and don`t mess it up so much.....and like i said it looks like is going to be a good game, i hope im right....

you can now clearly see the split up between the original NFS fans and the new NFS fans.
the newcomers want to have a new ricing game with loads of BS and races that are based on the streericing ... uuh I mean streetracing scene.
While the traditional NFS fans where happy with the Porsches and the Lambo's in the game. and wanted only minor and realistic tuning in the game (although MW lacked in the realistic parts.. massively)
The original NFS fans want the game to go back to it's roots:
Fast cars on open roads at exotic locations like driving trough the mountains at high speeds.
and not the hype that is running at the moment.
I personally found U2 a disaster! and U1 was fun. why? simple U1 was original, it had a original selection of cars of wich most cars where never in a NFS game before.
it was fast paces like a NFS game should, it did have tuning but you could keep it realistic.
the game had some nice new things like a fairly realistic drag race (although sometimes long and difficult but atleast it was STREIGHT!)
the normal tracks where well thought of, they where fast, but did require some skill and where exiting. ooh and although it did have a storyline it wasn't as stupid/predictable and cheesy as the last 2... (and NFS C will be No3)
U2 was simply Rice o Rama. It didn't offer anything but the option to rice out your ride, with a overkill of mostly useless and ugly parts! common, what are Spinners, hydrolics and huge audio setups doing in a RACING game!!!
The Car selection was basicly that of U1 but some cars they updated with a better version (Lancer and Imprezza) and they added SUV's... I mean common...
the races where simply put bad not at all well thought of.. they where annoyingly long, not exiting and basicly a pain in the behind!
But U2 did have it's good things. the seperate tuning, was a nice add. I liked that you could install parts and keep certain parts out (I often didn't use the exhaust and other parts that changed the sound of the car, and with that the second and best good part of the game. the sounds, the car sounds where fenomenal! got to give them that.
MW was basicly a improved U2 at daytime. alot of people wanted back to Exotic racing and alot of tuners also wanted exotics in the game to tune them. they put in most of U2's cars and added exotics. wich IMO was a good Idea. getting the police back in the game was also a great add.
bad things in MW. the lack of realistic tuning (removal of seperate parts) and the option to use horrifying bodykits on exotics and with that rice em out, they kept the most ugly car parts of U2, the roofscoops. the way they look they are a real racers nightmare and a ricers wetdream!
and it had another way to cheesy storyline. although I liked the more info they gave on the opponent etc. but the annoying stuff of Razor and his crew where getting boring fast.
so there is my 2 cents of the whole current NFS world..
now give me back my NFS as should be

Exactly!!!! I've been saying it for ages that NFS needs to go back to it's roots. While not perfect, MW was a step in the right direction after the disaster that was U2. I want cops back, I want huge open spaces to go really really really fast, i want exotics like porsches and lamborghinis. A sacrifice in terms of tuning isn't really a sacrifice, IMO.TheStig wrote:you can now clearly see the split up between the original NFS fans and the new NFS fans.

NFS will never get back to its roots because EA is looking for money, it's as simple as that. Recently, I visited the official NFS boards more frequently and I was surprised at the number of ricers out there. All they were whining about was the lack of tuning in MW and wanted all these cheesy and cheap imports.
Yes, I agree, we need back the Skyline, 350Z, S2000 and we need the NSX but EA has to realize and look back at what made NFS so popular. I believe EA will never go back to its roots for as long as this ricer fad exists or until EA is on the brink of bankruptcy. I, myself, will NOT buy Carbon, it's as simple as that...I've seen enough to make me think this game is worthless.
If so many ricers want tuning, why not keep it on high-end tuners and exotics. Honestly, I would rather have 20 excellent cars (e.g. Supra, Skyline, 350Z, S2000, NSX, Gallardo, Murcielago, F430, Enzo, 599 GTB, Carrera GT, 911 to name a few), all realisticly tuned to the very bolt in the car and to be able to tune these cars extensively BUT only from real manufacturers. Of course this will never happen...but it never hurts to dream...

Yeah 2furio your right, it will never happen but we can dream...
And I prefer a good small list above a bigger worthless list. but he I think we are the minority in the nfs world.
If you look at the old NFS games they had around 2 cars in it. and those where often top end cars and some other nice fast sports cars. (in classes) and they added some great tracks (wich took them a long time to think of and build) and you had a good overall package.

ok,ok,ok
excuse my interruption again..
that`s right, i think nfs will never go back to its roots
and for that i think they are going to lose some of the
very first nfs fans to be since the game came out the first time but,
nowadays is all about the new era ppl. high end cars are fun and
true to the fact that 20 of them is better than 50 imports, to me
personally, high end cars can get boring very quick, since there is not a lot
to do with them tunning wise without damaging their naturally engineer beauty.
that`s why a lot of ppl prefer more tunable cars including me although i love the
lambo, gallardo, mercedes and others....
nfsu1 and 2 had provided a more street-like style of racing, love by many btw,
and that is what many street-racing-game fans had been waiting for, along with those who like to tune cars street-style as well. the u1 and 2 titles made available this features and that’s when all the tuning started and caught the majority`s attention. it brought more fans to racing games, that mean a lot of ppl liked the game. EA noticed this and kept on doing it to this date and to be honest i don`t think they will ever stop.
the racing modes on both, i repeat this over and over, were better on u1 and u2. drifting, k.o. lap, street x, url, acet. .....made this games the mega bomb,,this features
also caught a lot of the attention from the racing-games fans and having them back would make carbon a much better game than mw actually is....
honestly prefer the nfsu series, although nfs games always had being the bomb on this businesse!!!!!!!!

Exactly. EA threw out the things that were the most fun but they kept most boring stuff so they would have to design way less things. They rushed on MW and now they're rushing on Carbon. I remember NFSU taking something like, 2 years? That was a great game. It was challenging in some parts, which made you want to keep doing races. (Unless you truthfully got pissed after 20 tries) The customization was way better than MW. And overall, the game was appealing to the eye...silencestorm wrote:the racing modes on both, i repeat this over and over, were better on u1 and u2. drifting, k.o. lap, street x, url, acet. .....made this games the mega bomb,,this features

Just to point out...UG2 was NEVER a hit, it was a horrible failure. When EA released UG, it was a hit and everyone could see that because EA was gloating here and there that they "reinvented" the NFS franchise but UG2 wasn't like that. UG2 was pure garbage and belongs in the trash bin.
The races were made on the city instead of the city being made around the tracks. Most of the "tuning" options were utterly useless and yes for the first time there was in-depth performance tuning. But honestly, it made such little difference on those crappy tracks, that it was worthless to actually waste time and tune your car.
Drifting in UG2 was also not as much fun, same with drag, damn they ruined everything...well look on the bright side, they don't have anything else to ruin in Carbon...

lol, not quite... they've taken away drag totally, introduced a few muscle cars (wtf, w/out drag?) and probably plan on Canyon Racing (eg downhill drifting with a twist) to be the only race mode....2furio wrote:well look on the bright side, they don't have anything else to ruin in Carbon
more like after Carbon, they have nothing else to ruin....

I have to say that I slightly disagree with The Stig, but only in one respect. I don't see a split between new-and-old fanboys as he does (at least, I'm not personally in either camp).
Having been an NFS fan from the earliest of the series, I actually appreciate both the older, exotic-oriented games as well as the more modern rice-the-shizzle out of your old banger ones.
Just as long as it's a good game, I'm happy to part with some wonger to purchase it.
However, I DID find U2 boring, even though the car list (IMHO) was a lot better than U1.
MW is OK, it's sort of a mixture (again, IMHO) of Ux and older NFS games. I know I've mentioned this 999 thousand million times, but it would be even better if the AI didn't suck so badly.

I agree with you. As longs as the game is good and the racing is fun it doesn't matter if the cars are imports or exotics. In fact I prefer a mixture like in MW.DarrenR21373 wrote:Just as long as it's a good game...
After all everybody is judging a game by their own preferences. I liked UG 1+2 as well as Most Wanted. Other people seem to hate it.
But exactly there is the answer. After all that import and tuning stuff came up, EA made the only right decision(in their own eyes) and changed the scenario of NfS to attract new players.
And I think the group of old fans that they lost through this is by far smaller than the group of new players they attracted.
As far as I know, all three sold pretty well. So from their point of view the decision was not totally wrong.
Let's face it. This business is all about money. Games are no longer only created for fun and entertainment.
The times when developers were holding true to their own creations are over.
I learned that through WoW.
It's not impossible that NfS will go back to it's roots. But not with Carbon and maybe not with the next one or two games. Not as long as they can score with the whole tuning and underground stuff.
I never said I hated the U1 or MW. I basicly did not like U2 at all. cause it was simply put a bad game overall.
I really loved U1, eventhough I hate the ricers running around in the city I live in. But I loved the fact that with every part I bolted on my little 206 went faster and faster. and I was able to beat big V6's with it. and stuff.. I loved it.
But like 2furio said, U2 was a failure. the carlist in general was better (although they added some useless cars like the SUV's) the races where implemented wrongly, again like 2furio said in U1 they build the tracks and build a city around it to make it complete and made a nice map to see what was where. but in U2 they build a city and later on did a point to point system to make tracks, and that simply does not work. cause you won't get suck exiting tracks like in U1. and that ruined the whole racing experience. I simply hated alot of tracks in the game they had annoying corners and where often way to long.
Most racetypes where IMO!!! also annoying, I simply HATED the street X races. there was only 1 car that ruled there and it was the AE86 you had to have atleast a small RWD car to race well there.
As for drifting they used utterly long and weird tracks for drifting while the tracks for U1 drifting where great, they where well thought of just like the normal tracks in U1.
and what did they do with those nice tracks?? they used them for Street X.
Aand then the URL's WTF was up with racing on a OPEN!!! airport... yeah they pay the guard.. so like no one is going to notice a bunch of street racers setting up a track with concrete blocks and race on it... neah no one in the tower will see it...
ooh and most of those races sucked!!
like said before tuning in general also sucked!
IMO what would be a good Underground game:
The world of U1 (wich had a big variety and nice locations, and nice add's like the drawbridges and the drain canal etc.) make a free roam of it and add the cars they had in U2 (exept the useless ones
)add a usefull list of parts (not 2 good and 25 ugly kits like un U2) then they had a great Underground game!!
as for Carbon, I am not going to fully Judge it, but I am simply not exited by what I seen, OK MW didn't exite me much in the beginning, but near the end it got me pretty interested, but atleast it didn't have a big U3 feeling as Carbon does.
I know that Forza 2 is the racing game I am looking forward to in December. it got everything I want in a racing game. great tracks, a huge carlist with a big variety of cars with realistic handling., and a tunings option with real carparts and even engine swaps... ooh and no cheesy storyline... even better no story at all
But I will follow the info on NFS C.. I am still a EPIC NFS fan. (I have more NFS games then most here.. got all 9 and more:lol: )

I completely agree with you.. I think NFSU1 was realisticly so much better compared to NFSU2. The N2O refilling thing blew everything. It took out so much realisticness off the game. NFSU1 was truly 100% street racing game. If only EA had introduced free roaming then, UG1 would have been a major hit.2furio wrote:The races were made on the city instead of the city being made around the tracks. Well at least they made you work for it, even though it wasn't realistic, while in MW you automatically and magically get more N2O. They need to go back to UG and if you waste your N2O, it's gone, that's it. N2O should be treated like it's precious because it IS.Flameking wrote:lol. that near miss thing for extra nos was a hilarious part of the game ea made. xD

just the fact that you can go at 200 miles plus regardless and reckless, down a Chinese town where the street barely have two lanes, makes nfsu and any other nfs game stay way out of reality....so ppl...STOP WITH THE REALITY SHT
LET ME SAY SOMETHING TO THOSE GUYS THAT SAID THAT NFSU2 WAS NEVER A HIT!!!!!!HERE ARE SOME FACTS YOU MIGHT WANT TO LOOK AT

SO...IT IS ACCEPTABLE THAT SOME MIGHT NOT LIKE NFSU2,BUT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE THE FALSE STATEMENT THAT IT WAS NEVER A HIT
1. Stop being such a noob and stop with the "screaming" and random emoticons all over the place.
2. You have no idea what you're talking about.
3. NFS UG2 was not a hit and it was poorly put together.
4. Lastly, don't base your information on crappy sites who are either:
- Noobs who have no idea what they are talking about or
- Ricers who couldn't wait for spinner and trunk audio who believe those items actually made their cars go faster.
I've stated on the previous page why UG2 was a poor excuse for a NFS game, I'm not going to repeat it.
