Need For Speed: Carbon
I never liked EA sports games or any othe sport games.
simply because you are not in full control you are playing 1 person and have x AI teammates that are walking with you and you can switch from peron to person. and you can't be certain you hit or score it is more a chance game then completely up to you.
That is why I only play shooters and race games cause everything I do is is result of what I want the car/caracter to do. if I crash or fail to hit the enemy It was my mistake and not a calculated skil of the person you are working with (as with sports games)

EA Cricket 2005 broke my keyboard![]()
It was so random whether I could hit a six or be caught out, that I hit the ESC key in frustration and broke its leg. Had to superglue it back on
isn't it going to be hard to make our own bodykits...i mean, isn't it going to look lumppy or not straight.

Just to let everybody know, Gamespot have posted a "First Look", and a Developer Intwerview on Need For speed carbon.
There's also 1 new screenshot and Gameplay movies!
http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/driving ... id=6153700
Gameplay Movie 1 confirms that the RX-7 is in the game(Green car, in front).
I'm really quite impressed with the gameplay shown in the video's. The game looks like it could turn out to be great.

here's the new screenie:

oh look! the Camaro makes a return! so let's see, that's at least 7 cars from Most Wanted. RX-7, RX-8, Aston Martin, Carerra GT, Lamborghini Gallardo, Mitsubishi Lancer, and Chevy Camaro. i hope they inlcude the others, with the exception of the Punto (most useless car ever, IMO)
so here's where the carlist stands right now:
Ford Mustang GT (Shelby?)
Carerra GT
Dodge Challenger
Chevrolet Camaro
Mitsubishi Lancer Evo (VIII or IX)
Mazda RX-8
Mazda RX-7
Lamborghini Gallardo
Aston Martin DB9
EDIT:
changed carlist from MW since it seems an RX-8 has made it's way into the PSP version and most likely the others as well.
EDIT2:
added possible carlist for Carbon

Remember that they havn't finished the game yet. I'm sure the car sounds will be fixed in later builds of the game.
EDIT:
Gamespot also have a first look at the PSP version of the game. In the screenshots section there's a Picture featuring an RX-8. So, we can probably expect that to be in the Console/PC versions of the game too.

Can anyone else say lame game mode?Gamespot wrote:Once you and your crew have managed to defeat the opposition in an area, you'll find yourself in a boss fight that highlights another unique addition to the experience, the canyon race. The canyon races are unique two stage competitions that find you testing your skills against a boss for points. The first leg of the race finds you trying to follow close behind the boss as he races to a finish line at the bottom of a hill. Your goal is to stick as close as possible to him as you'll earn points based on your proximity. The second leg of the race finds you in the lead trying to put as much distance between you and the boss as you tear down the route again. This time out your points are on the line as the boss will be draining points from you, to varying degrees depending on their proximity to you. Your goal is to reach the finish line with some points intact. Though extremely challenging, the races offer the potential for instant victories if you can manage to meet certain conditions such as staying out in front for a certain amount of time or getting a sizable lead when being followed. You can also lose just as fast if you happen to collide with some of the destructible barriers that are set on parts of the track.
I really thought Canyon Racing was drifting to the extremes, feeling the danger. But keep up and get away? That's the boss mode? Huh.
Reeeeeal exciting.
Just what LaPierre ordered. Not the customisation we wanted, the UG2-level customisation, but a whole new crazy aspect of customisation. Huh. He really keeps his word.Gamespot wrote:This time out Carbon is poised to offer all the expected features seen in previous games, although the ability to tune your cars isn't quite as deep as that offered in Need for Speed Underground 2, there's a crazy new aspect to it.
P.S. Don't get me wrong. I'm still hoping this game turns out to be better than what it sounds so far.
I don't use pwned. I use BSODed. It's less cool and harder to say. I know.

canyon racing is starting to sound almost exactly like touge racing (look it up, anyone interested). the concept of touge is quite interesting, as it is usually set in winding mountain tracks with barely enough room to pass, where skill and cornering play a crucial role. the gameplay trailer kindof puts me off, because it's not really what i imagine touge to be like. i imagined the roads to be narrower and the turns to be sharper. while the destructible barriers add a nice deadly touch, it's still kindof off putting. won't really know till i play it.

I have to admit I didn't know about touge racing. But yes, Canyon Racing would be exciting in the keep-up-and-then-get-away mode EA has set it in, if, and only if, for some reason you weren't able to pass, such as too narrow roads and sharp turns as you said. But seeing that there's enough room for two cars to be drifting on those turns at the same time, I don't see why EA's putting me to follow him.
