Tracks not loading in 'Underground 2' career mode.

I did do a search for this problem, but didn't come up with anything, so here goes.

In the Career Mode for Underground 2, when I agree to a race, often the track won't load. The game just sits at the loading screen; it hasn't locked up, because the loading bar is moving, and I can ALT-TAB out to the desktop. There is no HD activity though, and I have to end the game by bringing up the Windows Task Manager.

I figure maybe some tracks take a long time to load, but I've waited for minutes on end, and nothing will happen. Sometimes a track will load within seconds, but most of the time they won't load at all.

The rest of the game runs with no problems.

Any ideas what the problem in Career Mode could be?

My system specs (if they'll help):

- AMD 2500+
- 1.5GB memory
- 128mb GeForce 6600GT video card (AGP)
- Windows XP Home (with SP2)

I'm also using the latest Underground 2 patch.

edit: on playing some more, sometimes tracks in Free Races won't load either.

Try reinstalling the game,then try without the patch,then try with the patch,if that doesnt work,i dont know what else

Without the patch it works, but the streets are so pixellated they look like something out of an Atari 2600 game (at 1600x1200).

With the patch the streets look fine, but tracks won't load.

Boo.

The pixelated street an be fixed by turning up texture filtering in the options menu.

Cause of problem: User Error!

I have the UK edition, and I was patching it with the US patch.

oooh yes when i downloaded patch it was named us so thats the prob yes yes im sure its that
