The lifespan of NFSU...

Post by Sheep <Nl> »

I hope this is going to be an intresting thread...
I want to talk about the lifespan of NFSU. I just raced my last online drag.
I drag always. There are to many cheaters.
I raced 2 races normal...and 8 not...I race normally but they total themselves 3 or 4 tmes but keep going..it's really unbelieveble. I've had a lot of fun with NFSU but online isn't fun anymore...Problem 2. Bad connections...I'm not saying that i'm tha man because my connection is always good but a bad connection really sucks...because you don't know where your opponent is... :? Wtf is wrong man...what has happened to NFSU online...They should release a good patch with new bodykits...or mayby other cars such like a Silvia...damn man...i wanna know your opinion...

I'll try to make a movie with fraps so that you can see it...

yea i agree and stuff.... i love nfsu... it is still my favorite game of all time... but i do agree witht those problems... i was expecting nfsu to last longer than it has... i mean when i first played the game i was like wow this game is hott... and i thought it might get game of the year or something... bec. all of my friends loved it too.. but now theyve stopped playing and out of us 6 who have the game, im the last one playing... i just keep playing bec. im pretty good in drag and stuff and i guess its still fun... ill keep playing this game until nfsu2 comes out which i hope will last longer than this one and make the game moddable like COUNTERSTRIKE which has an incredibly great fan base.. that was what i was hoping with this game.. too bad its already dead not even a year after its release...

a year man it's not even half a year....
I just love the game, one of the best nfs of the series....
but like you all said OL killes it...

and one think I definetly don't LIKE is the fact that you have like 15 cars and only one is good .... the RX-7 it can do everything it's best for drag, real good for Drift (dunno best but just look et Benny in the drift score) and also to DAMN good for Circuit....
Other cars don't have a chance, wich IMO SUCKS.
they should have made classes like the other NFS game...
not one car can be good at averything

I love a lot of cars and Im happy with the fact that I got friends who still play it and don't use the RX but other cars like Celica and other moderate cars... makes it more fun

The lifespan of a game isn't relative to the single in the first place, but to the masses. If you allude to the lifespan of the game itself, I don't know. There seems to be plenty of life in it still. Personally I'm getting tired of this game .. have been for a while. But .. as with many other games .. I've been bored of it before, and taken it up again some times over the past month ... so i'm cautios when saying that it's ready for the dust-gathering. I haven't been racing online for ages now, simply because I dislike the lack of a code of acting. I refer to not only cheaters, but to ppl smashing you into the walls to win and such ... to ppl insulting each other on the chat ... this not to mention the extremely low level of the chat there normally is around the various rooms. Lag is a serious issue as well for me. Underground mode is fun ... but I've been through it like .. 9 times already ... fed up for now. Beating the clock and posting some times, studying the tracks was fun as well ... but somehow I just got tired of that too. Right now the reason why NFSU remains installed on my system is our kind of weekly competition. NFSU has become a maxy 3D photoshop in a way.

dont you get it that there is nothing they can do about nfsu anymore...
theyve said already theyve made a mistake making the game pc-ps2 compatible, that has made some serious patching issues and are not going to repeat that for the next nfs. that is why there are so many cheaters.

Let's just hope that the next series of nfs doesn't suffer from these flaws...

Pure gaming lifespan was about 1 week. if not the forum, i would have not touched it anymore. And I haven't 'raced' in about 2 months now.

I have to agree with you all.

orvnahum_ you're also right about that...
Well i've never played against a Ps2 gamer (or i did and didn't noticed it). It was a big mistake to give the opportunity to play against a console or pc...

Good one is that stig... The RX7 is so damn fast... I always raced with the R34 and that one is also fast. I was "testdriving" my FnF Rx7...HOLY CRAP! I thought it was Bugatti eb 16.4 veyron

Contrary to popular finger pointing (mostly by online PC players), the chances of being able to cheat online on the PS2 version of NFSU is very very unlikely.

Apon connection the game is authenticated by Sony's 'DNAS' service. Not only does this detect if the game is real or an ilegal copy, but it also scans the active memory for any foreign code. IE Game Shark, Code Breaker ect. The DNAS scan has also been known to reject playing online if the PS2 has a modchip installed. Even if the game is legit.

well, I honestly couldn't imagine how yuo can cheat on PS2 online, but I've never owned a PS2 (or never cheated if you ask!) so good to know. I know for a fact some shcmuck who cheated replied in the chat dissing everyone. when told 'so and so cheated' the response was ' yeah, so what?"... Didn't seem like you can type too much in PS2 (unless you get that little keyboard, but comon, who ever buys that..)

I have NFSU for the PC and PS2. The PC's was a gift, I bought the PS2 version lol
But I've run into a butt load of cheats online in NFSU. Doesn't matter what system I'm playing at the time. I doubt that EA will be able to snuff out all cheating, be it in NFSU or any up and coming NFS title. Althow if EA keeps the cource their on now in their game design, online cheating will be the least of their worries... But I dirgess. They should have seen this coming. It doesn't take a college degree in game engineering to figure out that NFSU's online would become a cesspool of cheaters. Its been going on since NFS PU. EA realy needs too stop pumping out games like there's no tomorrow and let their dev's actualy get things working and set up the way they want them before they shove them through the door.

Just my opinion.

On the note about keyboards/mice and the PS2. The PS2 can use any USB keyboard and or USB mouse. However, another screwup on EA's part was not enabling the drivers for keyboard support in NFSU. They did for Sims Busting Out, but not NFSU. In NFSU (PS2) you get stuck with a cheezy on screen keyboard. WTH were they smoking? lol

We're talking about an external cheating device, Supra. Something that alters the game data in memory, not that actual programers codes.

I really don't know this but aren't ps2 gamers able to cheat with NFSU if they're using a Xploder?

Counterstrike was really cool but just like in DOD and other games you can't see that your opponent has a mod. If i race with my 2F2F Skyline in NFSU others won't see it. They'll only see my Skyline with another stripe vinyl... :?

about the pc-ps2 connection. This is my opinion on it: mayby they've made it pc-ps2 compatible because otherwise there won't be enough NFSU ps2 players who'll race online... *this is just my opinion i really don't know what the exact reason is*

If they make NFSU2 or something like that change cars...Who will ever tune his focus? Replace the focus, 206, RSX with the Silvia, Honda prelude, and the crx mayby?

We all know that if EA allowed users to make full body vynal's that others could see online, there would be porn all over the place...

I highly doubt EA will allow that sort of thing again after the custom user Avatar's were abused in Porsche Unleashed. The imature people that used porn/snuff pictures most likely blew anything like that from happening again...

THERE IS NO WAY that custom made mods will be visible online unless a player also has it installed.

Comon! It's obvious!

The closest I know of a game that let's you create a custom skin and use it while everyone sees it is Moto GP2. but it's a bitmap editor, it's SO primitive, I don't even want it. So HOPE for a good set of EA vinyls, if you really must use one! :)
