They used exotics as police cars in the original NFS's too.t3ice wrote:Hey, he could change. Who knows he might even take a Porsche , as far as I know
EA seems to like turning Exotics into Pursuit cars like in HP2 .

have you guys ever seen that movie called The Island. Futuristic metropolis and such but during the movie, the cops were driving some beefed up Chrysler 300 SRT Cs.

it would real cool for these to be in carbon. pure muscle and horsepower.

(crickets chirping) Boy, the news sure died off for the day. My only beef with Carbon is that I hope the police will be more challenging than in Most Wanted. They should have had a career and cop difficulty setting at the begginning of the game, cause most of us are pretty much masters at evading pursuits by now.
The only reason you actually got busted was not from the cop A.I. , but the unexpected spike strip around a sharp corner and the vehicle's performance.
If I recall correctly, someone from EGM had a similiar complaint-he said that the pursuits took forever to ramp up in difficulty and you had to putter around at Bronco-like speeds in order to keep the police from loosing you.
On top of that the police behavior was far too predictable. There hasn't really been a moment in the game where I could s**t myself with worry about the police knocking my Porsche off the road, so I can't really say if I truly like the game or not...

It most likely is. It's much more cost effecient using an existing engine for a while before creating a new from the ground up. And is it me, or do all the NFS games look only half as good on retail than they do in videos posted on IGN.darknight788 wrote:it could still be the same graphics engine just revamped a little
Look at NFSU2, when IGN posted the airport dragrace, I nearly had a heart attack at the level of detail (keep in mind this is the PS2 version mind you) that was present. So what does the retail version look like? Barely half of what I'd seen thus far.
Other ingame videos like the Circuit race with the Skyline and the Sprint race with the Pontiac GTO (which by the way sounded absolutely badass with Level 3 Performance parts) also sport an excellent level of graphical detail. Final version...the framerate was slow and the graphics were less than expected.
And for those of you who are eagle eyes, you'd have noticed that the menus looked different in the gameplay videos of UG2 than the final version.
If you don't believe me, go and look for them yourself at IGN and then play with the exact cars on the exact tracks and you'll see what I mean.
