You shouldnt play for rank, its meanless.
Try to look for a round server, more fun !
We got some really populare servers in Norway: trackmania.no#1 and DataGuard OWN.
The OWN server is a round server. Try it

According to Trackmania.com, my current rank is 986447
Thats fine, considering I've never played an online game before. (Slow Computer and all).
However, I will try downloading the game again
. I still have some faith in my computer.
Edit: No, No... Still slow

What's your nick there? Maybe I've seen you.
Rounds definitely is better than time attack, even if you play to get points. After I first tried a rounds server, I've never gone back to time attack...

I'm only on Dataguard OWNs these days... Haven't played the last week tho, been focusing on Football Manager lately. That will change again soon tho
I tried to look for R34GTR and SliM_880 on the servers they mentioned for about a week, but I never saw them...

I've managed to reduce the loading times for my game, so I am now capable of playing online
. Had my first match yesterday (Time attack), and it was just awesome. Unfortunately there is always a great deal of lag on the opening lap, so I waste about 1 minute in order to make the following laps smoother.
But generally, it's all fine. If needed, my username is... wait for it...

See you on the track!
Edit: Here is my current custom-made car. It seems to have a 'discrete' Aussie feel about it

Nah, but I'll check it out. I'm hoping it's a UK server, so I won't have to browse thru 1000s of servers to find it...
What hours are you usually on btw?

I'm starting to get into the game once again, only this time it runs smoothly with the computer I am using (So I'm usually online from about 8:00pm (GMT +9) until I get tired and fall asleep on the keyboard).
Here is the custom car I use online, even though the paint-job is not visible to 99% of other players (You need an older version of trackmania to unlock that feature
).
See you on the track

I'll be back in TMN in January, haven't been able to play lately, as my computer tends to just shut off without warning...

And I've joined the Dutch FiX clan. Top racers only.

Been playing this over the last week.
Had never heard of it before this. I always play the minitrax 247 on the GBR server.
Love that game.

Yay, computer upgraded!!
Used to run at 800x600, with pretty low settings... Tried yesterday, with 1600x1200, and pretty high settings (I think), and it was smoother than before... I'm gonna love this
