carbon demo performance
carbon demo performance
hi I got the demo, but it's unplayable because of all the lag.
my graphic setting are 1024 x 768, med and low only car detail high.
spec: p4 3.2
gefroce 6800le(unlocked)
1gb ram
Do my comp suck or is the demo just bad. I got to know cause I'm about to cancel my pre-order.
PS. sorry for my english

my laptop chipset works too :pBrontoX wrote:Well it seems that all nVIDIA cards have problems and ATi cards work better.
I have:
P4 3.0Ghz
512 Mb RAM
Sapphire ATi Raddeon X700 (128mb)
and it works fine on med settings
The demo works fine on med and some high, except the "shader detail"(I have to set this to low)
idk about that, im running my demo on a geforce 7900 gto, 1gb ram athlon 64 +3400Well it seems that all nVIDIA cards have problems and ATi cards work better.

and the demo runs smooth with everything maxed out
btw, for those who don't know (from the tweak guide for mw)
VSync: Vertical Synchronization (VSync) is the synchronization of your monitor and graphics card's abilities to draw a certain number of frames per second (or FPS) on the screen. This is referred to as the Refresh Rate, and is measured in frequency per second (Hz). If this option is enabled (i.e. set to Yes), your maximum FPS cannot exceed your current refresh rate at your chosen resolution, and more importantly your overall FPS will be reduced. For this reason it is strongly recommended that you set this option to No. The only down side is that if VSync is disabled, you may notice some image 'tearing' - that is the bottom and top halves of the screen may appear to tear apart slightly at times. This causes no damage to your monitor, but if it really annoys you enable VSync. Once again, I want you to understand that with VSync enabled, not only is your maximum FPS capped, but your average FPS will also fall. For example, with VSync disabled, if you get 37FPS in a particular section, with VSync enabled you will get 30, as VSync rounds down the FPS. Verify this for yourself using FRAPS and you'll see what I mean.

heres a little tip for those that have a decent card but want more performance. this is mostly for nvidia cards but there are plenty of other progs. out there for ATI cards. if you search around nvidia or google " nvtweak " get that little file and run it your card will be able to be safely overclocked. i have had my 6800 overclocked for quite some time now and the idle temp stays right around 47 celcius and the load temps are somewhere in the mid to upper 50 range. it is just a little thing to give your card a little boost in speed and performance
