Anybody feels dissapointed?
Re: Anybody feels dissapointed?
Same me, these games go every year worse with same settings. Well, I found the configuration that doesn't suck too bad.SuperString wrote:I downloaded Carbon demo, and to be honest, I don't like it much.
First the preformace. I don't know how you guys play, but it doesn't run as smooth as MW. Though, since its MW engine, I can get same preformace. But I can't turn motion blur on and at 1024*768 it goes kinda slow (<25 FPS). That is interesting, since I play MW on 1024*768 with all maxed out except anti-a, and the game really flys. Have Sempron 3100+ with 1 GB DDR and 256 X600. Really wierd.
It's not your graphic card, but it doesn't look that bad too me and might just be kind of paint.SuperString wrote:Second, although cars are modeled even better than in MW, they shine too much, like they were made of glass. Maybe its my grafic-card though.
Handling and physics never were good, HP2 they were a bit better. Also, how the * can't I keep up that guy in the duel with a gallardo? They underestimate exotics. About drift, it's quite fun. Anyone having same probs, that in drift and sometimes other modes, autosculpt changes go shiznit and then back again.SuperString wrote:And what the hell did they do with physics? Driving a car feels like driving a truck. I had run with all 3, and Lambo was the worst. With 100 mph it was fully uncontrolable in canyon curves. And seems the cars can drift only in drift mode, tried to drift in canyon run and only thing you can do is power slide with SS.
I hope they will fix some bugs and about duels, I have a prob that sometimes in duel it starts with very fast speeds, other times not, wtf?SuperString wrote:And in the end, canyon race wasn't exciting like they said in interviews. I know it's just demo, but in 2 days game is going to hit the shelves, no time for changes...
And where the hell went boost gauges????

OK Here's my thoughts: Very Disappointed
1. Graphics is 90ish, I totally agree with someone who said they all look plastic; plus, lighting is very poor, it has nothing to do with individual computers, my pc runs the game smoothly with all max, the colour tone in the game is rubbish, purple road barrier? Gay!
2. Speedo is a joke, all cars share the same speedo layout, plus it looks 80ish, extremely poor, and you have real problem to know which gear you are in (the digit is so tiny that you feel like the designer doesn't want you to see it) when the engine is over reved, this is the biggest disappointment!
3. Drifting is extremely childish, if you look at the wheels carefully, they don't do what you tell them to do, the game corrects your movement automatically, i.e. keep steering left or right, the game will actually turn the wheels the opposite way, what a joke.
4. Game play is not only too easy for anyone over 10 with normal IQ, it doesn't give you the sense of speed at all, feels more like playing a mid 90 product from a c-list company.
In fact, I can hardly think of anything to praise about the carbon game, let alone topping most wanted, I'd prefer EA improve the online game feature of Most Wanted (so many facking cheating bast*rds) than fiddling around with a new hybrid nonsense. Well, maybe they just want to tap into as many people's pocket as possible. That's where this 3 crew concept comes from, that's why it plays on just about anything more powerful than a calculator, and that's why the PC version is no longer well developed. EA has managed to kill a very good concept - Motor City, I won't be surprised if they did it again.

I am quite new (2nd post) but holy smokes fasttasf that is a pretty harsh review. I, personally, don't care too much how a game looks, but how it plays. Most of your comments relate to eye candy and not how the game actually plays. I am not going to look at the wheels on a (childish) drift race to see if they are pointing in the right direction. If they do what I want them to do I don't even care if there are wheels at all (but that would be just silly). As far as looks go, it has always been my expreience that most demos are dumbed down versions of the final. I would hope that on Wednesday we will be seeing the real deal, at least I hope so.
I like the drift mode. Much better than NFSU2, which I just recently started playing again. I haven't gotten much control of the cars yet, but I think that will come with time. When I was playing PS2 Gran Turismo and went from 2 to 3 it was like apples and oranges. It will take time but eventually I will stop running off that darn Canyon Road.
Whether reviewing a game or any other product there will be people who think a really good thing just plain sucks. I try to look at the majority and take the minority with a grain of salt. It is just a DEMO.
I think it is much better than others of the genre. I look forward to seeing the final product.

Well, first when I heard the new NFS is in production, I thought I won't play it, that it'll be nothing new. While getting info about the game, I started to like it, it keeped getting better and better. Then when you could find almost everything about the game, it went downhill from there. Well, I still can't wait for the game, demo is a bit dissapointing but the game looks to be quite fun, if it had same graphics for same graphics card, if autosculpt changes wouldn't go shiznit while drifting (anyone having same probs) and if it had a music importer cuz I don't exactly like this year's playlist. Well, only demo I remember that does reflect the game is Lego Star Wars 2
If Linux had full support, if EA would support it, I'm damn sure it would run games much better than winsux, but it's not supported (offtopic, sry)
Too bad, what goes wrong? If BSOD, it usualy helps by a fresh instalment of windows. I also have probs, sometimes while playing, the game closes and it says...illegal operation...eh, winsuxTyrant wrote:I'm dissapointed I can't run the game.

Exactly, I don't care much about graphics either, the points I was making concerns very much about game play.
1. speedo, if you don't know which gear you are in, is it gonna be fun driving in Manual Mode?
2. drifting wheels, if you are not too thick, you should understand what this is about, the game actually corrects your input to sustain longer drifting time, I said this is poor precisely because the car DOES NOT do exactly what you tell it to do (with wheels or not, who cares), it's the computer that's really controlling the car all the way through drifting, not you, that's why this should be a game classified for children under 10!

I am a customer of EA, I have my right to complain! Plus, WHAT IS THE TITLE OF THIS THREAD??!! It's you that shouldn't be here, or maybe you need to learn English from the beginning again. I suggest you get a life man, at least I have placed an order for collector's edition, not someone steal it using p to p download or buy off the black market like a lot of people here do! And, by the way, I CAN do better!SomeKindOfMonster wrote:Fastfarrt has done nothing but complain since he started here. If you don't like the game, why bother on here? Everyone is entitled to post his opinion on the game here. If someone doesn't like the game, it's his/her thing . Flaming of other users will not be tolerated here.SomeKindOfMonster wrote:Fastfarrt has done nothing but complain since he started here. If you don't like the game, why bother on here? Well, I sort of deserve that in a way I have to say, but nonetheless, I AM disappointed that I am no longer one of the mainstream gamers that EA values more, maybe it's because I've grown older over the years (not that old to have a mid-life crisisBojan wrote:Everyone is entitled to post his opinion on the game here. Forgot to mention, I bought the collector's edition because I own every NFS game (original unopened package, and don't ask how I managed), and this is not going to stop because of one game.
Hey man, I agree. Consoles are meant to play games.Arnau wrote:I don't think that a PC is for playing videogames...
Buy a console! lol![]()
The demo didn't disappointed me. I loved it.
I am gonna wait for the NFSC CE, so I can drive the comaro concept.
IMO, I hate demos. One time, I played a demo from a game I already have (because I was bored) and it was NOTHING like the real game, a lot worse. Don't make a big deal about the demo, It may be nothing like the full vertion.
