NFS: Underground - How to get a 19 second run in Drag?
How do you get a 19 second run in a Drag Race? My personal fastest is 20.14 in a Nissan Skyline.
I just recently started playing online Drag Races. Now my opponent just recently beat me with a time of 19.22 in a Mazda RX-7. How?!
If anyone can tell me how this is done I would be very greatful. I am open to anything, techniques, voodoo, praying, or treating your computer in a certain manner. Anything at all to get in the 19 second barrier.
Thanks

ecu/turbo/nos uniques...... Then you hit the nos once your on the 3rd gear.VICIOUS29992 wrote:How do you get a 19 second run in a Drag Race? My personal fastest is 20.14 in a Nissan Skyline.

Here's a dragging guide from 'Skroting' - a dude who can pull 18 second runs...

Also, check out a video of Skroting pulling an 18 second run here on the Underground Movie Productions site.Skroting wrote:Guide to dragging
Best car: RX-7
Best setup: Drivetrain, ECU, Nitrous (engine or turbo might work just as well as ecu)
(Probably) the fastest way of dragging: Hit the throttle at GO, do a very small tap of nos and immediately shift to 2nd gear.
When using nos, you don't want to hold the button for too long. It loses it's explosive effect after a few tenths. That's why you want to release the nos-button after .3 of a second, then quickly push it back it for another three tenths. Let's say that "-" represents .1 of a second with nos, and "." is the short amount of time it takes to release the button and push it back in, then this is how I use nos:
1st: -
2nd: - or --
3rd: ---.---
4th: ---.---.---
5th: ---.--
6th: ---.---.---.--- (*) --.--.--
*) At this point you should reach top-speed, which is 351 km/h (218 mph). If you use any more nos now, you will overheat and blow your engine. That's why you should time your last nos so the engine will blow just after you pass the finishline. You have to find this point for yourself, but in a fast run (sub 19 secs), it should be used around 15-15.5 secs.
Note 1: Don't EVER let go of the nos and wait for the rpm to increase enough to get a perfect shift! A shift should always come right as you let go of the nos-button, and the nos should always be applied again right after you shift.
Lets add "s" (for "shift") to the already existing symbols, and a complete race should look like this:
-s--s---.---s---.---.---s---.--s---.---.---.---[ ]--.--.--
As you can see, I have skipped the "." between gears because the "." and the shift is at the same time.
Note 2: This technique is not easy to addapt to. It is indeed very hard to get the start right. The most important shift is from 2nd to 3rd. I tend to overrev this shift, but when I get it right, the finishtime is rarely above 19 seconds.

thats sweet how you can get a 18 sec drag time but when i go against my opponents in quick race somehow one of them got a 16 sec drag time. i dont know how!! this is how it started. i put the opponent's skill to hard. when the race began i wanted to try something.i blasted my nitrous at the starting line and my engine blew up. at the end of the race wen i looked up at statistics it showed that he completed it in 16 sec and his maximum speed was 201 mph and he only had 2/6 perfect shifts.oh ya and i did the race on i think it was called 14th and vine. how did this happen.

I though that with wheel and pedals you could get perfect shift at start everytime,I mean that you can go on green and stay there until the race starts(I saw it in a video...I dont remember where I dl it but the guy made 19.00 offline)Abrams wrote:wheel?
why you need wheel if its straight?
and why you need pedals?you dont need to slow down or maintain power

Faster guys!
Hehehehe thanks for the advice guys. I'm hitting 19.9xs and 19.8xs average with the right amount of perfect shifts like between 4/6 and 6/6.
My personal fastest now is 19.45, I dont know how I did it though.
Although, I've played with even faster guys now and they do 18.6xs and 19.2xs average. In short mid 18s to low 19s. The thing is, they sometimes do it with only 1/6 or 2/6 or 3/6 and with only a top speed of 218 mph. Now how the hell do they do that?!
Damn! It seems there's still a lot of things I have to know about this game. Again, thanks for the advices guys.
