Tuning Question

Post by Mike-NFSGamer »

After recently reinstalling my system and wanting to pickup where I left off.

- I gave myself the car of my choice by using NFS Control Panel. Before I reinstalled I had 3 rides readily available from my last career.

Before Reinstall
"ENJOY IT WHILE IT LASTS... TIRE BURN OUT"
Darius Race recorded to *.avi Xvid Codec 251MB 2800Kbps MP3 Audio.

This time around I chose a Z06 Corvette using NFS Control Panel
-I customized only the visuals
-I also notice that the car goes way past 250MPH ...WTH WTF!
- I have even seen numbers in the 300 range...WTH
-The handling on this car is very good, but the crazy acceleration between the various gears always makes me delete the profile from the directory.

Now for my question:
-When I go thru my career and purchase a new corvette rather than using the NFS Control Panel.

A bone stock Z06 handles like junk - The Rear end slides all over the place

How do I match the "handling portion only" to what you get when you use the app above? I have spent hours tuning a brand new vette and everytime the rear end is
still loose and slides.

How in the world did he get such amazing handling???
Please, someone... I don't want to use the app because of the top speed and acceleration you get when creating a profile with that app.

I am perfectly happy with the Z06 default acceleration 202MPH Max at stock
Its only 4 MPH over the 2007 Z06 198MPH Motor Trend speed test

Logitech MOMO Overall Force Feedback Effects @100% for carbon
all others at default

Here is the steps I took
==================================================
Use NFS Control Panel:
-Create a single Z06 Profile
Test drive - "Handling" 8) :)
Overall Speed "I don't like it" 250MPH+
-Delete the whole profile.

Now, use nfsc_13_unlocker_gnagna2000
-Unlock cars and go buy a Z06 bone stock
-tune it too see if you can match the Control Panel apps handling, because I sure can't.

The only car I really wanna drive is the Z06, but without using that NFS Control Panel app and choosing a Z06 I cannot keep the rear end from sliding all over the place.

I'm not much into exotics, but until I can drive a properly tuned "handling only" Z06. I stay with these 3

RX-8
RX-7
Skyline

How does this work for tuning?
What I mean is... We have three part options each with three columns
-Now we can only choose one part or can we apply the first part and checkout. Then, go back into engine and apply the second part or does it simply overwrite the first part?

-I never really messed with the tuning in Underground 2/Most Wanted/Carbon
I always just added the part and clicked apply/purchase "default setting for the dyno's were always good enough to go thru the careers"

I am brand new to tuning rides in Carbon and I cannot find a guide for this anywhere.

I want myself a Z06 this time around.
So I need to know how to fix the handling portion

Thanks

Just a quick tuning video

Post by Mike-NFSGamer »

After lots of performance tuning and test driving, I believe I came pretty close to what I was wanting. The top end is just right and the cornering is about there.

Xvid 1,300Kbps (XVID CODEC REQUIRED)
Lame MP3 128kbps
49.66MB 5 Minutes

Test drive video for final tuning on handling (0:00-4:17)
Top speed test starts at (4:18 - 5:00)
Please also keep in mind that testing was done at 100% force feedback resistances

Now for another question:
Is their anyway to load your own songs into NFS Carbon?

i found the answer: the one that Control Panel created, used the "grip" tires. so if you don't want the car to slide, then tuned the tire to "grip" when installing performance upgrade.

oh, and about the "massive acceleration" you was talking about. the profile that the Control Panel created uses Km/h as units. i think 1.6 Km/h = 1 Mp/h. so that's why you see the car goes up to 300. but in your video, you use mp/h as unit, so it only goes up to 180 (if you translate it to kph, it still gives you 300+ kph). hope this help you :)
