Where can I find the official system requirements for this game? All I can find are postings on the Atari forums, and I don't know how reliable they are.

It's the beta so there are MAJOR bugs, including the fact that HDR doesn't work for me in TDU but works in HL2...

Only just discovered that by turning the gfx detail down to medium from high, the game is much more playable on my PC  ... now the cars react when they should, not half a second later, it is a different game - I take back what I said earlier - it's flipping awesome! Pity the beta has ended, I was just getting into it (only owned 6 cars: my original Alfa GT, Lotus Esprit V8, Caterham 260, Jaguar E Type, Lamborghini Gallardo SE and Nismo 350Z).

The Caterham 260 is awesome - but please, somebody tell Atari, it is pronounced "Kate-rum" or "Kate-er-um" not "Cat-rum" or "Cat-er-um"!

Good fun, I can hardly wait until my full version arrives in the post. :D

Guys and gals:

BE VERY CAREFUL UNINSTALLING THIS BETA!!!

Make sure you back up your C:\ drive, as I have just uninstalled from my main PC and it has wiped the whole of the C:\ drive except folders and protected files!!

PC will not boot - NTLDR missing, hal.dll corrupted, etc - I am currently reinstalling Windows XP as I type this on my ancient laptop.

Doesn't bother me, as I needed to reinstall anyway (PC was getting slow). Just a warnng tho

Well actually the beta couldnt convince me to buy this game... I had several game freezers , sound problems and my gamepad couldnt be configured to use the analog sticks. Also the performance was really bad. The game stutters sometimes (loading issues ?) Ihave 2 GB RAM so those problems shouldn't be there... CPU AMD 64 3800+, Sapphire X1950 pro 256 MB..

The island is amazing great and there's lots to explore. if there's coming a demo without any major bugs I'll buy it..

But I can't confirm any problems uninstalling the beta. Everything runs fine for me. (the unistall I mean)

Obviously. If the beta wouldn't be closed, everybody would have a free game to play.

So, is today(13th) the big day or has a delay creeped in?

Edit: Just checked. Delayed by over a month. March 20th. Oh well.

But at least they aren't rushing it out full of bugs (unlike a certain games company we could mention whose initials should be FA as this represents their bug-fixing). I'd rather wait and get a properly optimised, bug-free product!
