Evidently, a large percentage of you here have no idea what 'rice' actually is. Answer me this:amda1 wrote:no this is rice:
Some people are getting confused
Which is the biggest ricer; The RX7 owner who puts on a big wing and decals, or the Mustang owner who puts a Type-R badge on the back?
Consider that, then consider why that NSX driver is the biggest ricer in this thread.

The NSX is'nt rice. Just A well done conversion to F50. Ricer cars are cars that are overdone with cheap aftermarket or homemade parts and include the following:
-Spray painted/Cheap Paintjob
-Homemade (Usually of wood) Bodykits or ugly aftermarket ones
-Colored stock or unfitting rims
-Big Decals that don't go well with the car
-Biggest part of all NONE OR LITTLE PERFORMANCE PARTS
Now ricers are usually already stock (slow) Japanese import cars but that NSX is already fast when stock so at least if it had the aftermarket body on it, it could at least go fast if anything else.

Heh, I saw a Ford F-150 'Type-R' in L.A. the other day.Grez~Supra_RZ-S wrote:Evidently, a large percentage of you here have no idea what 'rice' actually is. Answer me this:

Obviously none. What, you think a big wing and decals make it a ricer? No they don't. A big wing looks great on an rx-7, providing a phat veilside kit is in place, and most tuned cars have decals as the companies who develop them put them on. Whatever badge a person puts on their mustang is up to them, if they want a Type-R badge then that's fine. Thats not rice either, just eccentricityGrez~Supra_RZ-S wrote:Which is the biggest ricer; The RX7 owner who puts on a big wing and decals, or the Mustang owner who puts a Type-R badge on the back?

I actually didnt mean necessarily to pick out your quote as being wrong, although you share the same (wrong) opinion as many others in the thread. Seeing as youre about the only one who can construct a half-decent sentence together from your camp, I picked you. Bottom line to the story I guess is; I wont oppose something you say when its right.you don't have to oppose everything I say you know?
As for no come-back...
Theyre both ricers. Heres why:amda1 wrote: Obviously none. What, you think a big wing and decals make it a ricer? No they don't. RX7 - FD RX7s have 270bhp as stock, 280 if its a special edition (Type RZ, Bathurst etc). The gearbox on FDs as far as I remember limits the top speed to 160mph. So, for your wing theory...
Racing wings have been proven to be ineffective at under 140mph, the downforce they create is useless for traction up until that point. Also, the drag coefficient they create up until that point would, in theory, slow the car down if anything. As for decals, hey if you like shopping lists down your door, be my guest. The ONLY reason a car should have decals is for paid sponsors, not because you have a Mugen floor mat and want to show off about it.
Mustang - I cant believe you cant actually see anything wrong with someone putting a 'Type-R' badge on an American muscle car. Aside from the fact that the Mustang is from the USA, and the Type-R heritage hails from Japan in completely different markets, and aside from the fact that the Type-R badge has been the calling card of ricers for at least the last decade, its trying to make the car appear to be something it isnt.
Which in turn comes to my NSX argument. That NSX is built by Honda, not Ferrari. It was developed by Ayrton Senna, its already been acclaimed as Hondas greatest ever achievment. It is NOT a Ferrari, especially an F50. In comparison, it has a 6 cylinder engine which is very mildly tuned, and about the only thing comparable to a ferrari is its MR layout.
But hey, who am I to argue with anyone who uses the word 'phat' genuinely. Youre not Tim Westwood are you by any chance?

don't know if the second one counts as a ricer
