I have an Antec, I read reviews saying they only last 6 to 8 months and Im approaching my 6th month with it and it is showing signs of it dieing. That is why I want to try a different brand, just didn't want to buy a chancy or bad brand.
@BrontoX: If you go with ATI, wait a few months, their new GPU's are coming out. But you better get a nice big PSU for it, it takes about 230 watts. It already out-performs nVidias card.

@weedman173: It should run it but it depends on how many Hard Drives, Optical Drives and fans you have.
Usually when you get a G88 GTX it's recommended that you get a 800watt PSU just to be on the safe side.
What do you think of this system:
Mobo: ASUS P5N32 SLI Premium @220Euro @270$
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 @2.4 GHZ FSB:1066Mhz Cache memory: L1: 64Kb L2: 4096 kb @351.8$ (I think i will Overclock it)
RAM: Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400 2x1024MB 800MHZ Latency 5-5-5-12 @229$
HDD: Western Digital Caviar SE (WD2500KS) 250 GB / 7200 rpm / 16 MB cache @85$
Optical Drive: DVD-RW Pioneer DVR-111D (Black) 16x / 16x / 6x / 8x / 40x / 32x / 2 MB cache @40$
Video Card: Gainward BLISS 8800GTX NVIDIA GeForce 8800GTX / 768 MB / GDDR3 1.1 ns / 384 bit / PCIe X16 @1x629$
or 2xGainward BLISS 8800GTS NVIDIA GeForce 8800GTS / 640 MB / GDDR3 1.1 ns / 320 bit / PCIe X16 @2x441$
Case: Antec SOLO no PSU @80$
PSU: Thermaltake W0106RE 700W @176$ or Sirtec HPC-620-A88S 620W @92EURO
OS: Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit English or Windows XP Professional
TOTAL: 1500-2000$ (depends on what i will get)

No, I just replaced the power supply thinking that was it and it's not, so it's not the second time. I don't think it is an overheating problem since my computer makes the sound when I turn my computer. I'm just gonna ignore it and keep using my computer, I can't figure out what it is, and two different electronic stores can't figure out what it is.Carcrazy wrote:You've said that twice now...

Depends on chipset and cpu... but i use, clockgen, A64info-beta, and i could also use nTune, but i think it sux imo. I only use software to test to see how far i can go. You should really do all overclocking from bios for stability. But if you have a pre-built system, software may be your only option.Carcrazy wrote:Anyone know ANY overclocking software? I don't know if this is the place for this question but I'll ask anyways.
I have noticed a drastic slowdown in my internet browsing speed. I usually click on my bookmark to get to this site and it used to come right up in about 2 or 3 seconds, now it is taking anywhere from 10 to 13 seconds. Navigating the forum has also slowed down, it used to be 1-2 seconds to load pages and now it's taking 4-7 seconds. It's not just this site, almost all others are slow too. My download speeds are really good for my connection though, so I really don't know why my internet is so slow. I am using Firefox with the Fasterfox Extension, and I use FireTune.

I have not changed any firewall settings or anything, my computer is the same as it was when I had a good fast speed. I'll check for spyware and viruses. I have also defragged my computer and did a disk clean-up. I also noticed my whole computer has slowed down, but that could be because my computer is using almost 50% of the RAM sitting idle with the required programs open. I really need some more, I only have 1GB of physical memory and I set 8 to 12 gigabytes of hard drive space as virtual RAM which isn't really helping.
EDIT: Just removed some spyware, browsing other sites is a lot faster, but the same 3 sites I usually visit are sorta slow. The sites are this one, msn, and one that I cannot mention(no it's not porn).
