I just thought of something: Would the files being on a separate hard drive than the OS be causing the problem?

That shouldn't really have an effect on how the music sounds, but you could try moving the song or songs to the other hard drive and see if you get the same result.

Doubt it. Even if you're using an IDE drive, you won't notice the delay.

Nope, that's exactly what the problem is. Copied one song to the same drive the OS is on, played the original file on the first hard drive and the new file, and the new file isn't skipping.

If they're on two physically different drives, you might want to run diagnostics on the drive it was skipping on. It may be severely damaged.

If it's just two different partitions, I suggest you run scandisk and disk defragmenter to make sure the disk is in good condition.

Can someone help me with a game problem? I am playing The Movies: The game, and during gameplay the game stutters every 5 to 10 seconds but only for a second or less. Those stutters a re really annoying me. I get a perfect framerate, it's just it stutters a bit, and it should not be a problem with not having a good enough graphics card.

Here is my computer specs:
Motherboard---GIGABYTE GA-M59SLI-S5 590SLI AM2
Processor---AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4600+, MMX, 3DNow 92 (CPUs)
Graphics Card---Leadtek 8800GTS 640MB
RAM---Geil Two 512MB stick totaling 1GB
PSU---750Watt Thermaltake Toughpower

640 MB? That's a little odd for memory size.

Anyways, stuttering can be caused by many things, but more than likely it's just the game design. If you don't experience any problems with other games, and if the stuttering isn't so bad, just live with it.

Usually stuttering is caused by a lack of memory ... Try disabling background programs or add more memory ...

Also, you may want to check to make sure if there is a patch/update available ... I know when I got Civilization 4, it had a wicked problem with memory at first and would give me problems similar to what you're experiencing ...

The only two games that I have that problem with is Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 and The Movies. Both are pretty much the same type of game, top down view and you can zoom in and it's detailed 3D. But it could be memory, cause with only the programs that are needed running, 40% of the 1GB of RAM is being used. I have to wait until May to get another gig.

Hmm, that makes it sound like something is wrong with the disc, but if you don't see any damage on it then maybe the disc is warped.

If you have access to another computer, try the disc in there to make sure it is the disc.

Then the disc is probably damaged. If you don't see any scratches on the disc's surface, it may have become warped. Scratches are fixable, but I doubt a warped disc can be fixed.

If you just got it, then exchange it for another one.

I've some fixing kits in stores but I don't know if they really help.
There's a small bottle of some liquid that you poor on the disk or something.
