I love the look of them standard.
Don't waste money on bodywork, some Schmitt Modern Lines and an overbored KR 1.8 with 2.0 bottom end and ITB's will be good fun!
Or 2.9 12v VR6 with ITB's.

You could try rounding some of the edges off, give it a more modern look without changing it a whole lot.

I'd say a set of BBS or replica alloys- something like RS301's in 16" or 17", wide with a 1.5" dish front and rear. Centres colour coded to the colour of the car (bodywork should DEFINATELY be something like metallic red or orange, something bright!) and outside lips polished.

Anyone know of a turbo that you could put into a Volvo 240 DL? Year is '89.

Or how about you get a good car?
The problem with turbo conversions is you have to buy the turbo, then pipework, altered manifolds (both inlet and exhaust), intercooler, remapped ECU and usually need to upgrade brakes and handling.
Cheaper to just get a good car.

I kinda like the Volvo. It's really a nice car. Not high performance, never will be, but still nice.

Just wondering if anyone knew.

It's Italian, so it will break down constantly.
I like the look of them, though.

For a similar sort of look, how about a 1st-gen Toyota Celica?

I've been looking at them since you mentioned it, but it's kinda out of my price range. I'm just looking for a car to restore right now.

Ill agree with that. If you do buy one, make sure its the short-wheel base model, the LWBs handle horribly. Theyre scarily unreliable, and very heavy. The interior is beautiful though.

Twenty THOUSAND dollars for an unreliable, poor handling Japanese coupé?
What they said. Don't buy.

What do you guys think of the ford fiesta rs turbo. Is it worth getting or is the 1800 version better or worse?

Not bad, if you can find a good one.
Only problem is a good one will probably set you back about as much as a 200SX or the like, so not really value for money.

Yeah you're right.

Well, its either the Fiesta RS Turbo or the Peugeot 205 gti. Which one, in your preference is better.

Also, which version of the gti is better. The 1.6 or the 1.9?

Cheers

The 1.9 is much better.
The 205 GTi is quite possibly the best all-round standard FWD car ever made. Note the use of standard; I'd still rather have a modded MK1 GTi or Corrado.
